Porn. Not joking, my friends dad owned a theater and the liked to sneak us in during the those hours. We were only 6 or 7
Your friend's dad liked to show you porn movies when you were 6 or 7? This explains so much.

No idea which was first, but it was likely Jungle Book, Apple Dumpling Gang, a Herbie movie, The Aristocats, The Cat from Outer Space, or The Shaggy D.A.

Seeing The Empire Strikes Back in 1981. I was excited that we were going to see Star Wars. Then when it started, I got pissed that "HEY THIS ISN'T STAR WARS!" But once it got going, I was hooked.

likely Jungle Book
I have a vague recollection of going to Jungle Book that is my first movie memory.
When I was very young, parents dropped off a bunch of little kids at the local theater to see a double feature of Dumbo and The Legend of Lobo. I don't recall any adults staying.
The previews were not "suitable for all audiences" as they say now. They ran the trailer for "Hell's Angels on Wheels", a biker flick, that had hippy chicks dancing in bras, weed smoking, bottle smashing, etc. And that's just in the trailer. We were pretty excited over that one. LINK
All of those movies had been released years before, but they would re-release them at theaters back then. I saw True Grit and Smokey and the Bandit at the local theater after they had been on network TV.

The battle scene in Antz. Nothing too exciting unfortunately.

Beauty and the beast. I was terrified that the whole movie was going to be told in stained glass.

The rerun of Bambi in theaters (mid to late 80s). I was devastated.

Poltergeist and I was young. I remember going with my mom and coming home to our house deep in the woods and both of us were scared shitless lol. My dad was out of town and I don't think my mom realized that it was going to be that scary of a movie , I don't know if we even stayed for the whole thing.

Jurassic Park with my Dad and cousin when I was 7.
I recall wearing a white T-shirt and when some of the raptor scenes came on I covered my eyes with the shirt, but could still see through the shirt, which made it less scary
Vividly remember going back home and playing outside with my cousin when a massive storm rolled through and we hunkered down in our "fort" and I swear I thought the T-Rex was going to show up at any minute. Good times

Home Alone. I remember how cold it was leaving the theater.

I still can't believe they got Tommy Lee Jones to play that part

I remember being at The Grand Theater in downtown Thibodaux watching the Jungle Book. Google says it was re-released in 78, so I would have been 3 or 4 at the time. Probably my earliest memory of all.

Alice in Wonderland (Disney Cartoon) - saw it when I was 4 while visiting relatives in Dallas, circa 1953-ish. I liked the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit; Red Queen was a little scary. Don't remember what the theater was like, other than dark inside.
First memories of actual movies and theaters - I'm guessing I was about 6 or 7 when my parents took me to see different movies that they wanted to see. Remember nothing of the movies, but the previews of The Creature from the Black Lagoon, Phantom of the Rue Morgue, and The Colossus of New York scared the bejeebers out of me.
