Empire.

I was 4.

I remember standing up in my seat and yelling "nooooo!!" When Vader said he was Lukes father.

I also remember running around talking like Yoda for weeks after. Aggravated the hell out of my parents.

Just realized it was Superman (1979).

First movie theater experience.

That's somewhat cool - first movie ever...could have been worse but could have been better I guess.

1979 was amazing...

Superman the Movie
Alien (did see it then)
Apocolypse Now
The Warriors
Mad Max
Star Trek the Motion Picture
The Muppet Movie
The Black Stallion
Escape from Alcatraz
The Jerk
Being There
Disney's The Black Hole
North Dallas Forty
Moonraker
Life of Brian
Manhatten
Breaking Away
10
Amytiville Horror
Meatballs

I want to say I got taken to see The Land Before time when i was 4. but the first one i really remember was The Little Giants about 8 or 9.

best memory was skipping school and taking my fat 8th grade girlfriend to makeout during a daytime showing of the rugrats movie, some random guy in his 40s was in there and kep scooting up rows to watch me feeling her up. totally awkward but didnt stop me at all. by the end he was on our row. them biggass jeans of hers were dripping when we left son.

I know I went to other animated movies but the first one I have a clear memory of going to was Care Bears 2. The reason it sticks out is b/c the babysitter brought us late and made us leave early and my kindergarten butt was quite pissed.

Did anyone on here see their first movie in a Drive-In

I know they had some hanging around in the early 80's and especially the late 70's - what was the Drive-in Experience back then?

I grew up with Drive-In's being in movies and watching them...but never been to a Drive-in. They don't exist anymore in the different states where I've lived the last 30 years.

Is there any now?

I mean, is it old equipment, does the sound suck? Do they still bring you food?

A Bugs Life. Playhouse Cinemas, Alexander City, Alabama ran out of the theatre as soon as the sound system came on

The Dark Crystal at the Nicholls Twin Cinema in Thibodaux. Those Skeksis things really freaked me out.

There are over 300 Drive ins left in the country. You can go to Drive-ins.com to search for the nearest one.

Nowadays they run the sound through your car radio and concessions are usually the best part of the experience.
