Any release date timeframe announced? I'm really excited about this if Snyder stays away in all aspects.

I want to see a documentary on what it's like to direct a film you star in yourself

I imagine its a lot of "okay guys I was great, but you were all water trash, again!!"

Nope. They released two more dates for future DC projects for October 5th, 2018 and November 1st, 2019. I doubt they release Batman in October so that leaves a possibility for Nov 2019. The word is that Batman is being fast tracked, though. Personally, I think they move another movie there and put Batman in it's place. Like maybe they move Aquaman from July 27, 2018 and put Batman there. It would be a great follow up to Justice League in 2017. Hell, maybe they move JL there and put Batman in 2017. I would be fine with that. It would give them a little more time to polish JL.

He just made a critical type movie called 'Live by Night'. He'll still make those kind of movies for you. Don't get upset, buddy.

Ya, I've always wondered how that goes. I imagine you really have to put out good directions to the temporary director who films scenes you are in or something.

Ben Affleck would be the best guy to ask that question to. I think the only movie he directed and didn't star in was Gone Baby Gone and that starred his brother.

Naw, he directed and starred in those 3 I listed.

So he's pretty much an expert at it now I suppose.

Keeps him away from doing a Gigli I guess

Yeah, no shite. Unless he's talking about establishing a good Batman, that movie did anything but set up a good foundation. That's some PR statements right there.

I know. I missed a word and corrected it. I caught it before your post.

If Affleck directs, and Snyder and Goyer are allowed no creative input, then it should be great. BvS set up the Red Hood arc, so that's what I expect they'll do. Ben Affleck would have a lot to work with there.

Granted there is a slight problem with what Snyder did with him in the last movie where Batman kills 30 people and tries to kill Superman, but I'll let that slide.

Ben Affleck is co-writing his Batman movie with DC Comics CCO Geoff Johns. He’s expected to direct it as well, though Tsujihara did not explicitly confirm that tonight.

My boner cannot be contained here.

Hopefully they keep Snyder and Goyer as far away from this movie as possible, hell keep as far away from any DC movie as possible.

I really want to see a Man of Steel sequel with Grant Morrison writing the script. He wrote the best Superman story I've ever read in All Star Superman.

I wondered if Affleck knew after seeing the first screening of BvS that he would have leverage down the road after the critical review.

I'm hoping they use this film as a test to see if they let Affleck direct justice league

Yes. All-Star Superman. For people who think Superman is shite, please read this. It is bar none the best Superman story. They all try to get dark Superman, or overly idealistic Superman, but this was the comic that got Superman completely spot on. Not only him, but it's the best version of Luthor and Lois as well. If they reboot it, they better cite this as the primary inspiration, instead of "The Death of Superman" and trying just to defy Donner's series.

I'd be shocked if it wasn't in his contract for BvS that he gets to direct his own Batman film with no outside creative input.

I think he for sure knew that it didn't work. The way he sounded in some of his interviews was telling. He said things like "I want people to like it" just kind of unenthusiastic and lacking confidence. Someone asked him about Suicide Squad before BvS was released and he said “I've seen Suicide Squad, and I can tell you that movie really works”. Maybe as if to imply that BvS doesn't? Looking back on it now, it's possible. Chris Terio also seemed less than enthusiastic. But like a blind fan, I ignored it.
