Setting, yes.

Film, no.

Wow.

At least now we know who Argonaut is an alter of. . .

But disliking the movie has become mainstream, so I guess I should have expected that the hipsters would eventually rush to take up the less popular position.

Matter of time for shite like this.

And when Ep 9 underperforms, like Solo, I am sure it will be because of racism, sexism, and transphobia. . .or whatever is the Hollywood epithet of the day.

Isn't it now canon from one of the novels that she did receive some training?

Solo was never going to be a gigantic hit. Not because of TLJ
every excuse in the world.

But not TLJ, never TLJ.

That is the one thing we can't allow.

Fatigue, no interest in Solo story, May release, anything, ANYTHING!!!!

Just not disillusionment or anger regarding TLJ.

Never that.

OP is a flaming liberal so his affection for TLJ is not surprising.

I’ve watched the last Jedi a couple times in the last month. It is better rewatching it because the absolutely stupid parts of the movie are not shocking anymore. I like the parallels drawn to the old movies except having the opposite outcomes at every turn.

It’s still not good. It seems every time I watch floating in space Leia she is even further out from the ship than I thought previously. Luke’s whole storyline is crap. The pushing of the female leadership down our throats is even more obvious. Even my wife, who is a realistic feminist, thought this was absurd.

What’s silly is the framework was there for a cool movie in my opinion. It’s all the little details that they seemingly swung and missed hard on in between that makes the movie so dumb.

But the rebellion/resistance has always had female leadership. This was nothing new.

Hell, A New Hope is a bigger feminist movie than TLJ was. By far.

I agree with the OP. The movie wasn’t groundbreaking, it was non stop action with very little plot. I did NOT like what they did with Luke, why have him force ghosting while fighting if he’s going to die anyway?

That said it was entertaining enough, I really didn’t see that much SJW stuff like everyone claimed. I mean the sub plot where they free the racehorses and stick it to the slaving society, is being against slavery SJW now?!?!?

Sure women were the leaders of the rebellion but why is that so hard to believe? There aren’t a lot of people in the rebellion, the main leader is Leia, a woman, why wouldn’t she have some other women helping her?

And honestly the movie made the woman leader (forgot her name) look pretty inept, she couldn’t control Poe.

Are people claiming Chewie not eating that chicken thing a shout out to vegans? It was comedic relief.

Y’all are way too sensitive

Also when has fuel ever been a problem in the SW universe?

Just because it hasn't come up before, doesn't mean it hasn't ever been a problem.

This is a stupid complaint.

because of the single scene where she takes a gun and shoots back? GTFO.

She was a damsel in distress that needed to be saved by boys, and was absurdly sexualized throughout.

Girl power, amirite?

Nearly the whole movie revolved around this angle and it was a weak as frick recycled plot point.

they left the child slaves.

That is pretty pro-slavery, or at least indifferent, if we are being real.
