I'd say it needs at least double that for a sequel to even be considered.

They can't just jump from "Orcs and Humans" (Warcraft 1, which the movie is based upon) straight to the Lich King.

They'd have to get through the Dark Portal, the fall of Medivh, and Deathwing before they even touched Reign of Chaos and the Frozen Throne.

As much as I want to hate Trump, I can't. He is just hilarious, but that doesn't mean I want him (or Bernie or Hillary) running the country.

The Warcraft 3 and world of Warcraft cinematically are the best in history. The music is some of the best in video game history. The lore is some of the best in video game history. I can already tell it won't live up to my expectations for it. But I'll go see it because I want it to do well so eventually we might see the stories done properly.

Couple Tweets that I saw from John Campea and Dennis Tzeng from Collider:

quote:

@johncampea
I liked WARCRAFT. Gets a little silly in places, but for me personally, it took me to Azeroth and I just enjoyed my time there.

quote:

@ThinkHero
. @ThatGuyJayiii Both me and @johncampea enjoyed it and @KristianHarloff thought it was just ok #Warcraft

Will add more official reviews as they come, just added these because I respect both opinions and I've seen there names thrown around on this board as well.

Looks like it will probably end up being rotten.. but I'm hoping it does well cause I'd love to see some other Blizzard games be made into movies..

Director Duncan Jones, a self-professed Warcraft fan, has clearly put a lot of love and care into fleshing out a story, but it's questionable whether it was ever really merited.

do you have a link to that? I see everywhere quoting it as 100M before marketing.

Duncan Jones was on the short list of directors for Man of Steel. It's a real shame that didn't happen. We would have been spared all of the Zach Snyder garbage and (hopefully) he would have cast his pop as Jor-el.

More from the rotten review done by Steve Rose (Guardian):

quote:

The prospect of a predominantly white, European realm being invaded by foreign, primitive, darker skinned hordes (they are actually called the Horde) might set alarm bells ringing in our current climate of immigration anxiety. Is this a veiled Ukip broadcast? Or a pro-Trump one? Nobody suggests the orcs are there to steal Azeroth’s jobs or exploit its benefits system, thankfully, though they are intent on overrunning their adoptive country and sucking the souls out of all its living creatures.

This is why I cannot take these reviews seriously. I mean really, frick this guy for insinuating that there are racist undertones to fricking Warcraft.

Yeah, I struggled reading through that review because of that paragraph right there.

Literally has nothing to do with Warcraft.
