Warcraft has visual thrills to spare, but they -- and director Duncan Jones' distinctive gifts -- are wasted on a sluggish and derivative adaptation of a bestselling game with little evident cinematic value.

The final product brings to mind those animated advertisements for iPhone app games.

I couldn't believe when I first saw the trailer for this. It looked like one big advertisement for World of Warcraft. Should be a massive flop

I'm hoping for Ghostbusters.

I expect it to be rated rotten. I don't care as long as it pulls in money. China should eat this up. If it hits 200m worldwide we should get a Lich King film, which is all I care about.

It needs more than that. It's got a 160 million dollar budget, which doesn't include marketing. I'd say it needs at least double that for a sequel to even be considered.

I seriously doubt this, but I don't expect this movie to be an all time great like Lotr. It should be a fun watch and it's kinda cool to see the warcraft lore on the big screen if you've played the games.

Said no one about Warcraft ever. I think many of you are underestimating how nerdy the franchise is perceived by the masses. Sure it might do ok in China, but I'll be surprised if it breaks 100 million in the States.

I thought the budget for Warcraft was only 100m? Nvm, I'm an idiot it is 160.

I just want them to use the same technology they're using in this movie to make a badass Thundercats movie.

I don't know shite about Warcraft but I love Duncan Jones. Moon is one of my favorite movies of all time.

This movie looks like the Dungeons & Dragons film with a higher budget

I'm still going to go see it. Looks like a large epic movie. I like those.

It just looks like a video game to me... which I guess it really is, so I guess the joke is on me. But the style is very jarring to me from the previews.

My god.

Battlefield earth was the worst film I've ever seen.

This is why I couldn't be a critic. I felt this exact same way but didn't know how to articulate it (granted I have only seen the trailer).

Zowie Bowie picked the wrong movie to make. There's no way this wasn't going to look like a cartoon.

It doesn't look good at all to me, but I'm tempted to go see it.
