Probably not, but I doubt it is 18% bad.

BvS wasn't the 30+% that they gave it.

Agreed, I don't think Apocalypse deserves the 45% or whatever it has either.

NO. That would have to be the THIRD film at the earliest.

Before you can even introduce either, you have to bring in everything from Warcraft II:

Ner'zhul (The first Lich King)
Neltharion/Deathwing
Introduce Lordaeron
Invasion of Draenor/Outland

THEN you can go into Reign of Chaos (which is, by far, the best story with the best characters)

Kalimdor
The Menethil line (Terenas, Arthas)
The Bronzebeard line (Magni, Muridan)
The Windrunner line (Veresa, Sylvanas, Alleria)
Tyrande Whisperwind
The Stormrage Brothers (Malfurion, Illidan)
Go'El (Thrall)
Grom Hellscream's corruption and redemption
The Burning Legion (Tichondrias, Mannoroth, Kil'Jaeden, Archomonde)
The Kirin Tor (Antonidas, Jaina Proudmoore)
The Bloodhoof Clan (Cairne, Baine)

A lot of the characters in Reign of Chaos would be extremely difficult to pull off onscreen.

The Night Elves are 7-9 feet tall and have rabbit-like ears.

Archimonde and his brothers are the size of Optimus Prime.

Medivh would have to return and shift constantly between raven and human form.

Much of the Scourge are creatures out of some horror film director's worst nightmare.

The Nerubians are giant deformed beetles (Anub'arak, etc.)

I can see them going the Nehzul / Deathwing route for the reasons you explain previously. Its much easier to CGI a dragon / Pull from GoT with the undead.

Much harder to pass off a gigantic Eredar to the mainstream public.

But at the end of the day, if this doesn't involve Arthas and his downfall into the LK, then whats the point. Frozen Throne is the pinnacle of WoW.

Arthas is the same age as Varian (10) at this point in the films.

You have to sow the seeds for his downfall in the sacking of Lordaeron. He's even more racist towards the Orcs than Varian is.

Is it really surprising this movie is awful? Whoever green-lit this project is a moron. You could tell they knew they were screwed when they started spraying ads on every medium possible to try to drum up interest.

Things like Warcraft, Starcraft, etc. are better suited as NON-NETWORK TV Series.

Put Starcraft on Syfy (10pm ET slot) and Warcraft as an HBO/Showtime series.

Problem solved.

It probably doesn't.

The problem with RT ratings is that it puts all negatives in the same group. There is either "Good" or "Bad". There is no in between and it gives a false positive or false negative rating.

When I click OP link of the gross sales the link says 69million but the browser takes me to the page, it is actually at 121million after its record breaking debut in china ..Also, hasnt even opened in US yet. With this kind of take, I am excited to see where they go next and wondering how different the movie "lore" will be from the game.

Domestic: n/a 0.0%
+ Foreign: $121,000,000 100.0%
= Worldwide: $121,000,000

Yeah that 69.7 was after the second weekend, before it hit in China.

Speaking of China:

@ChinaBoxOffice
WARCRAFT earned est. ?302M ($46M) on Thursday, China's 2-day total is now ?603M ($91.9M).

That's a great point. Average rating of this movie is 4/10. Why is it not at 40%? It's a little sketchy.

100% agree. You're getting downvoted because it's a hard pill for them to swallow.

The same is said about Star Wars and the Lord of the Rings. Doesn't mean they are not great stories.

Disagree. Those two franchises are much more widely liked and accepted by the general public than Warcraft.
