I loved East Bound & Down, but I was a little apprehensive that this show would feel too much like it, and a cheap copy of the former. I was wrong. From the opening scene until the final scene, the show was full of funny shite. I can't wait until the next episode.

Thank you for giving me the only comment I needed in this thread to watch this show. I was probably going to watch, but wanted to drop in to double check, and yours being the first comment I saw, I shall partake.

I loved Eastbound & Down and watched this last night and loved it. The best part, the wife hated Eastbound & Down so it was something I could watch in peace. When she sat down to watch this and saw Danny McBride again I was left in leave after the first couple f bombs. ??

She left or didn't leave?

I mean, truth be told, Danny McBride brings the same exact persona to this series, but I suppose what can hopefully enhance his usual character is the story around it, and Walton Goggins seems to be a pretty funny guy.

Actually, this would make sense, since Danny McBride is the producer.

Not gonna lie. It's weird watching Boyd Criwder walk around a school.

It was decent. I'll continue to watch.

I really wish they would have renewed The Brink.

So, I guess Danny McBride can only play 1 character. It was basically season 1 of Eastbound and Down with Kenny Powers the PE teacher promoted to Vice Principal.

And yes, it was still pretty damn funny.

See, I don't mind typecasting if the acting is well done. I think we can all accept that McBride isn't exactly Gary Oldman, but if he does it well then it's all good.

The show is particularly hilarious to me working in education. There's a little bit of truth behind the ridiculousness.

Okay I'm sold on this show.

Check out this quote I pulled from the internet.

quote:

I just heard a very entertaining/interesting interview with Danny Mcbride in which discussed his background as a substitute teacher and the rigorous methodology of how they constructed this show (dozens of drafts per episode, all scripts finished before shooting started, etc), and how dark and unpredictable things would get as the season developed.

I am ALL IN.

I really don't get that at all. This character doesn't have near the flamboyancy of Kenny. He seems way more straight laced and by the book to say it's the same persona.

I laughed hard several times last night. Great episode.

Danny brings a Brash and foul mouthed persona in practically every character he plays but thats where the similarities stop between VP and EB&Ds main characters

I liked last night's even better than the premiere. I thought Dr. Brown was on to them. The weird French guy actually liked them, odd.

I can see this being a really good one or two season show. I can't see how it would ahve a long run.
