why is that stupid?

two cops are able to penetrate the perimeter security by only encountering two guards

you think they should have the frickin' NAVY or something?

why bother with having a security system

I mean, it's a house. It's not a sex party in a prison.

why bother with a safe

I agree with you here, but also think you're nitpicking.

quote:

one doped up female cop is able to throw up the drugs that had already entered her blood and had affected her vision and mobility/balance

she was still fricked up. Remember the opening scene to the next episode? You throw up stuff to hopefully lessen the effects and the amount of time you'll be fricked up. And molly makes you nauseous. Throwing up makes that feeling go away. Probably hard to do your job when you're rolling balls and feeling like you're about to yack.

again, they're in a house. It's just a house. It's not a neighborhood or a compound.

I did think she was able to get out way too easily after killing the guard. But I don't understand why you or anyone else would think this place should be crawling with security. I mean damn, how much security is needed for a

See my above response.

The sex party scene and the shootout from an earlier episode are just too unbelievable

I agree the shootout scene was not very good and the writing lacked substance for a while. But it's also tied together nicely the last 2 episodes, IMO.

The last 2 episodes have finally gotten somewhat interesting. That said, HUGE letdown after season 1.

ETA - The song for season 1 was fantastic. Not sure why they replaced it with this turd.

Couldn't agree with this more. Season 1's intro song was great from the first listen. I figured Season 2's would grow on me but now I just fast forward through it.

I can't do all the quoting and pasting to make my response neat, but to your questions:

-- they frisked the girls before getting on the bus and then passed a basket to collect stuff after they were on the bus; this makes no sense since, as they showed the detective putting a handbag in the basket, all she had to do is put a knife in the handbag and the hide it on her body once she got on the bus (yes, the could have checked the handbag before she got on, but then why give it back if they are just going to collect later).

-- as to the security at the house, perhaps I expect too much, but considering you have a house full of politically connected big name folks doing drugs and screwing hookers, I would think they would have security measures in place to prevent a two man team from easily gaining access. The Russian had more muscle with him when he went into the club to tell Frank he bought the lien on the clubs in a busy public place.

-- I'll have to concede the argument about throwing up the Molly since I was just guessing that it would be like throwing up when you're drunk, it does make you feel better but not immediately.

-- the other questions or disagreements appear to revolve around the expectations of security at the house where the sex party took place and, as explained above, I think I just expected security that put up more resistance than what it did.

agreed, they were both poorly scripted and preposterous.

The only way to improve it would be to dump that shitty song altogether.

It's actually grown on me to be honest.

spot on. We won't even address the earlier shoot out.
Despite the inadequacies, I've enjoyed the series. Kind of hard to match/outdo the original TD, so my expectations weren't too high. Just wish some of the aforementioned scenes weren't such a stretch.

fair point here

we can just agree to disagree on the security thing.

I didn't really have a problem with that line. He wasn't saying that this contract has signatures on them. He was saying that the papers have the signatures of all the influential people they were looking into. Paul didn't really have the knowledge of the land deals like Velcoro did since he wasn't working for Frank. So, to him, the fact that all these big guys had signed the paper was news.

I totally agree. I thought episode 5 was okay but all of the other episodes have been painstakingly boring.

VV's storyline is the weakest. I don't care about Ani and her dad. Colin Farrell is using some lame and unconvincing voice that makes him sound constipated every time he talks. Woodrugh was boring as hell.

I don't care about any of the plot narratives. They should have had some episodes with Casper alive so that we gave a shite about who killed him. The orphan thing is so unappealing to me. Stan had like 2 minutes of screen time and we're supposed to care about his death.

Bad writing and bad acting and just a poor story told in a clunky and incredibly boring way.

If people like it, good for them, but I do think that there is still a lot of cognitive dissonance going on with this show.

Oh for sure. I kind of like the "honor amongst thieves" rapport VV and Farrel have going on now. I'm sure they'll end up kind of throwing each other a life preserver at just the right time.

The Tim Riggins body will be found and made to look like a dirty cop that killed some good guys in an alley. I'm sure that will answer just enough questions for Valcorro, combined with what VV already knows. Within that truth, there should be some proof. And let's not forget who still has the documents..... It's just a matter of "who can you give them to?"

they were not even clear who exactly these people are though.

Just shows to me how awful of cops these three are.

So now they knew who left the party with girl and everyone involved. The cell phone being left behind is a biggie unless it was a burner? Idk

If Frank was worth his salt he would have killed all the Mexicans for taking out the girl with knowledge he needed.

It's hilarious how many of you decided since the opening scene that this season was going to be bad. It seems like a few of you can't turn back from that opinion even though the show has been really good over the back half. Honestly I'd rather a strong finish than a let down like season 1.
