Everybody is going to die in the shootout, besides RM and CF. They will take the plane tickets and cash from VV and go live in Venezuela and have awkward sex for the rest of their lives.

I've thought about this and aside from the orphans being two random people it's the only tie in that makes sense. There's got to be something to Ani calling him out on his fake accent.
Still, it's hard to believe the mayor would be so supportive of a son that isn't his, and going so far as to call them a political dynasty.

So we have seen 7 out of 8 episodes, and we have learned absolutely nothing about:
1. The occult that was supposed to be involved this season.
2. The black bird mask or it's significance.
And dont tell me that the power dudes at the sex party are the occult, because they're not.

Season 2 summary
This should help anyone with questions about the plot.
I think a lot of the criticism is undeserved. Sure, the plot is hard to follow at times but overall the show has been very good from the start. Even if you're a critic of the beginning of the season, you can't deny that episodes 4, 6, 7 were really good episodes.

I think I have some understanding as to what's going on but here are some of my questions/observations:
1. If Caspere etc. used the blue diamonds they stole during the looting to buy into the Vinci mob, wouldn't that mean that the diamonds would have been in possession of Chisani? Didn't the missing girl suggest that Caspere had showed these to Tasha and that's how she got the pics? How did Caspere have access to them, and how could she have snapped pics of them unnoticed? I doubt Caspere would have left a common whore alone with hundreds of thousands worth of diamonds.
2. What motivation did the Russians have to take over Frank's places? These clubs were all billed as relatively low rent, and Frank was scratching and clawing to be a "real" player via the land deals. The Russians were already real players. Why would they dick around with low rent clubs?
3. I think Frank's wife is up to something. Question is whether he already knows or will find out. I think he wanted to see her reaction to dead Blake. Then she asks what she can do to help, and he puts her to the side under the pretext of keeping her safe.
4. Was Blake the Birdman? It seems like the only group that knew about the safe house was Frank's group and then Ray when Frank told him. I guess it could have been orphan girl/boy (see below)
5. Does the hard drive contain sex party blackmail or simply the Caspere murder ? I think its the latter, particularly as it was hooked up to the camera/computer in the safehouse, and the sex parties were elsewhere. Or, another possibility, it could contain video of Caspere's acts with orphan girl and her or her brother want to get it to destroy any evidence of motive. But if it's not sex party blackmail, why does the Catalyst dude want it so bad?

Use them as fronts for moving their product and any money laundering operations

It's probably both. They've said Caspere liked to watch. I could see him using that place to host other people for private activities that he then recorded.
