These last 3 episodes have saved the season imo. A good finale and this will have been a pretty good season.

That said, the plot is just too convuluted with too many characters. I was lost on a few parts when Ani & Ray were essentially spelling out the story. This thread helped.

I'm curious to see how they rap it up. I kinda thought Woodrugh would wind up dead but not sure on the rest. I will say this...VV has been a pleasant surprise as it has progressed. Good acting and character development. I'm rooting for him

I'm really interested what role Ani and Ray will have in the finale

Assuming they do solve this, I'm interested to see how they present the information, and to which authority. They're fugitives. Can't turn to the AG's office. Do they go to the Feds and hope they buy it? Is someone going to turn out to be an undercover Fed this whole time (would be lame IMO)? Or does Ani turn again to her Ventura PD partner for help?

Agreed. At least one of them had to die.

At this point I'm not sure if VV makes it though, you can read into his completely shitty luck as continuing or maybe turning it around but as we know, in crime the bad guys usually win and not vice versa. Bad guys being the Russians in this case.

Yeah I think Frank somehow dies with the diamonds in his possession.

last week's episode was the most interesting, followed by sunday's episode. I just don't care about VV and his wife AT ALL. And then the scene at the table last night...just felt awkward to me.

That's how they wanted us to feel. It was awkward for them as well.

eta: the only thing awkward was my semi boner

I couldn't care less about his wife, but he had some ice water in his veins last night with the moves he made. And it was pretty badass. It's really everything I wanted out of Vaughn as Frank in a gangster role.

I think Ani's cop partner is one of the "orphans" and is also "birdman".

I think this too, only because I can't think of any other characters. He looks a little old though.

He's too old. The girl was "about 4" and the boy a "little older." That would put them late twenties.

Guess she wasn't sure she could trust him?

I don't think she should have trusted him with her dad and sister, and he's gonna double cross her.

1. Did Caspere know his favorite girl was one of the children of the parents he helped murder during the diamond grab?
2. And is it safe to assume the man who shot Tim Riggins in the back is the birdman?
3. If the mayor had his signature all over those documents, then why did he look so surprised when Frank told him he should sober up cause he's about to get fricked? Who's trying to slide into his position/what are they trying to frick him out of? He seems pretty corrupt on all levels especially after that Kennedy family comparison, and he knows the game so why rock the boat?

1. No. Tascha is an eastern bloc girl
2. No. Caspere's killer is probably related to the sex ring. Now it is a safe assumption that he shot Ray with the rubber bullets. He was probably going to the house to find the hard drive (blackmail prevention angle) and saw Ray show up.
3. Mayor's son

Can someone explain the orphans to me?
And how the cops came to be aware of them?

but I think he was talking about buying them. The guy told him $700k, but then Frank upped the price he wanted... I'll have to go back and watch it again.

He wants to convert the stolen money into diamonds so that he can transport the value with him when he gets out of town via airplane to wherever he changes his destination to. How else would he and his old lady get millions on a commercial airplane?

He will need to go to either the Caribbean or Switzerland to monetize the diamonds and deposit them in a bank for later use.

The Jewish diamond merchant was hesitant to help because he suspected his illegal purpose, then Frank dropped a name and the Jew agreed. He will charge 40% for the service.

Jesus man it's a pretty important piece of the plot

Casper, Holloway, Burris and Dickson worked in the same unit back in 1992. They robbed a jewelry store for the diamonds to buy into the crime syndicate. In the process, they killed the two owners, leaving the children as orphans

Who is this Ray character, and what (if anything) does he have to do with what's going on here? I don't get where he fits into all of this.

Ok, but how did the detectives become aware of them?
And why did they decide they were relevant to the case?
