Of course your going to get people who will say the movie was horrible, because they had lofty expectations.
from what i've read, having mediocre expectations will still leave you woefully disappointed
for example, i just read this:
quote:
I hated this movie. Despised it. During the screening I turned to Aint It Cool News' Mr. Beaks and said 'This is grueling.' He checked his watch and less than an hour had gone by - and we hadn't even gotten to the real filler yet (there is enough filler in this movie to provide the entire runtime of another film. There's about 90 minutes of absolute nothing smack dab in the center of Revenge of the Fallen). And we hadn't even gotten to the point where it became obvious that no one involved in the film cared enough to craft even the most rudimentary of stories or to be concerned about even the most simple of continuity: at one point the characters walk out of the back door of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Washington DC and end up blatantly in Arizona at the Sorona Desert Airplane Graveyard. It's a breathtaking moment of not giving a shite, one that gives you an idea of how little thought and care went into the construction of the film.

Well, there have to be people who like it to get it up to 20%
Also I think a lot of people try and say it was entertaining since they already wasted $10 on it

Well, I just got back. Saw it in I MAX, which I don't recommend unless you can get there early and get a seat at the top. First movie I've ever seen in I MAX and I won't be doing it again. My neck is still killing me. I liked this movie and I think most people who are fans of Transformers and who liked the first one won't be disappointed. Non stop action and a I found myself laughing more at the cheesy humor than I did in the first one. The story is completely ridiculous but I wasn't bothered by that. Just sit back and enjoy a lot of bad arse special effects with robots blowing up shite and oh yeah, Meagan Fox wasn't too bad either.

Saw this at midnight. I loved it, the action was good, megan fox had a much bigger role, which was awesome, seeing that she always looked like a 10, and the robot chick was almost as hot, but then we saw she was a robot, which made her equally as hot.

Really good movie. Would have enjoyed it more if people would learn not to bring 2 year old kids to a movie, then not leave when they start crying.
Anyway Like a lot of things they did, guess im one of the few that like Bay stuff.

There was almost a fight in Broussard last night at the screening I was at because of a kid crying. I mean why bring a baby or a kid younger than 5 to a midnight screening? But what almost caused the fight was the teenager standing up and screaming "don't bring a fricking baby to a midnight movie"
Posted on 6/24/09 at 9:51 pm to Kracka
Lol, yeah I came close to it. There were 3 different people who had babies, not kids, BABIES. I went to a 6:30 show, which ended close to 10, those kids should be in bed.

...and the teenager is correct. You may fault his methods, but when someone is retarded enough to bring a baby to a midnight show you have to go to extreme lengths to make your point.

At my midnight showing, this black guy stands up in the lower section and says, "Can I have everyone's attention please? I'm here with my sister and she is 9 months pregnant and this could go down at any moment. Just wanted to let y'all know." Everyone got a laugh out of that, and then like three times throughout the movie he yelled out some comments that were perfectly placed. by the end of the movie everyone liked this guy.

Okay, so I just saw the movie. And I think it was just as good as the first, if not better.
The Smithsonian thing was pretty glaring to me also, but I didn't let it ruin the movie for me. Plus the amphibious assault at the end which took like 5 minutes from contact to arrival. But whatever.
I don't get how critics are bashing the movie so much, it is like the epitome of summer movies. I went to be entertained, and I was. If you didn't like the first one (Michael Bay ruined my childhood, LOL), then you won't like this one. If you wish to see the baddest popcorn movie ever, then go to this movie.
And please stop on the twins. Yes, they were black stereotypes, but every black person in that theater was laughing. Its called comic relief, and all movies have it.

Movie was awesome. If you liked the first one you really should like the second one. I don't know why it's getting so much crap... when everyone should already know exactly what to expect.
Well worth the money I put down on it!

*Spoilers*
I found it to be a VERY entertaining flick.
I go to 90% of movies for instant gratification entertainment and both Transformers movies certainly fit the bill.
Up till about halfway through the movie I felt that this one was dramatically better than the first one, and then the plot absurdities started to pop up. I am sure that some of you have picked up that this is kind of an odd complaint for me, I tend to defend movies on this issue if it is remotely possible that it can be explained behind the scenes. I spend my thinking time trying to figure out where they are coming from and how it can work rather than looking for "errors."
In spite of that, I am still shaking my head at how the frick the President can conclude from the Decepticons broadcasting their presence to the world and demanding to be handed over a human/US citizen as evidence that the root problem was the fact that the Autobots were there. The frick? That sounds more like a thought process from Biden than Obama....maybe Biden was running his teleprompter?
Then there is the "tearful" Sam's death scene. I spent most of it wondering what the frick was wrong with him. One of many explosions near him, with only superficial cuts on him to show for it, and we are supposed to accept that he just dropped (well, thrown) dead? Then when we faded to the Prime heaven scene, I instantly came up with the excuse that he never really died/was near death, but it was an event caused by his actions to explain his "worthiness" of the Matrix.
This gets blown away when the Fallen was able to just grab the Matrix from Prime and just fly away. Seriously? Didn't we just go through a cutscene explaining that it wasn't something that can be taken but must be earned etc, etc, etc. I could be mistaken though, the action before and after kinda turned my brain to mush trying to follow it.

This was a painful movie...literally.
It hurt to watch. Both as a movie lover and as a human being with eyesight.
It was tedious and terribly shot. Just an all around awful movie.

This is a really, really bad movie, in every sense of the word. There is not one redeeming quality. I found Shia mildly funny at times, but drastically over the top most of the time. The robots were cheesy as all hell.
Hell, I like a good mindless summer blockbuster. But Michael Bay's hard-on for spinning camera shots, unintelligible action sequences, hyperbolous explosions, offensively retarded dialogue, and mind-numbing narration had me watching the back of the chair in front of me because I was in physical discomfort.

I loved it, my son and nephew loved it so it was well worth the money I paid. Yeah it has plot holes and the timing in the movie doesn't fit alot of times but I thought it was just a fun movie. That's what I go to the theater for, to have fun.
