It really is just a badass summer action movie. It isn't supposed to be Citizen Kane.

It depends on what expectations you have going into this movie. For me ask a kid I loved transformers. I played with toys and watched the cartoons. For me this is like playing with the toys all over. I loved the movies for what they were. An action flick. I was again just pissed at what the did with devastator.

If they are spending more time on HUMANS than the robots, and more time on minor characters than Prime, et al, how can that make someone who truly enjoyed the 80s toys and shows happy?

Some of the blurbs are entertaining though.

"This is the single worst film to be released thus far in the summer of 2009 and that's a whole helluva pile of bad to overcome in achieving that title."

"I swear to you that I have never had a film experience that felt longer than the whopping 149 minutes of Revenge of the Fallen, every single one of which I wish I had spent doing something else."

"Bay's most unrestrained and ridiculous to date. The male teenage cinematic equivalent of snorting cocaine off a hooker's arse."

"At once loud and boring, like watching paint dry while getting hit over the head with a frying pan. And at two and a half hours, it really is very long."

"Putrid, offensive and life-sucking. Early word is describing this woebegone fiasco as the next Batman and Robin. Having seen both, Joel Schumacher has every right to protest the comparison."

Reviews that bad should make you reconsider going to a movie. That is the whole point of a review.

Do you believe what is in the National Inquirer? That holds about as much weight as a movie review.

Your getting one persons opinion on a movie, and honestly if you do/don't see a movie based on a review then you just can't make independant decisions.

I played with the toys and there was plenty of robots to keep me interested even though there were alot of human scenes. They didn't have enough autobots IMO.

Reviews

One person may be wrong. Lots of people may also be wrong but I am not throwing $10 away to find out especially on a Michael Bay movie.

Let it be because you are cheap and want the crowds to pass. Not because some book nerd tells you it's not good. Just sayin

I generally despise Michael Bay. The only thing that can get me to see one is if the "book nerds" tolerate it.

Yeah I am not going to see it because I do not like Bay's work and do not really enjoy summer blockbusters. In this case the reviews are just echoing what I already feel like. But once again it is all personal opinion.

I understand the whole 'do not base your opinion on a review and make your own' ideology but when only 20 percent of over 200 reviews/opinions say it is good, this may be a little bit of a sign.

My favorite transfomers:

Soundwave
Shockwave (very small role for such an expensive toy)
Devestator
Jazz
Megatron
Prime
Ultra Magnus (bad arse toy...ruined pussy character bc of Robert Stack)
Star Scream (or Cobra...whichever you prefer)
Thrust
The Insecticons
The Sharkticons
Grimlock
Swoop
The Jumpstarters (played no role, to my knowledge in the cartoon)

Least favorite:

The Ambulance, microscope, and whatever little red car that had Kasey Kasem's voice..no coincidence that all 3 got waxed by Megatron and Starscream in the cartoon movie.

I saw it at midnight last night and was very entertained.... that's all and exactly what it was supposed to be, entertaining. I thought it was very good and was worth the time and money to go watch it.

More comedic relief in this one and more interaction with the robots which I though was cool. More fight scenes and the evolution of the dialog of the robots having been on earth for 2 years made it better. I may not get paid money to critique movies but I would recommend going to watch it.

I might get roasted for this, but the Twins were pretty damn funny. I liked 'em.
