saw it at 11pm last night. Will pay to see it again. I just wish some of you "critics" who apparently go to movies to criticize and judge would stick to your crappy oscar nominated movies. I usually just know that if it is up for an oscar or raved about by critics it will suck. If critics hate it, I will pay double to enjoy the action. Some of you need to read the book "The Man Without Content." It explains how man has placed himself over art--especially the critic who cannot even produce the very thing they criticize and yet their criticism is elevated above art. You people lack content

Look man I LOVE action movies and hate arthouse shite. But a retarded movie is a retarded movie. And if I pay 7 bucks and get visually assaulted I'm gonna rant about it.

That is exactly why I pay my 7 bucks. I want to see a spectacle when I go to the theater.

That sounds like a good action movie. I guess I just took all the comedic moments for what they were-comic relief. Plus, I could call bullshite during a lot of movies, I choose not to in order to enjoy them more. If you didn't like it, that's cool.

I have only seen three movies that I couldn't get out of my head the next day because they were so awesome. The first one was Independence Day, the other 2 were both Transformers movies.

I like to see a spectacle as well, just prefer it to be somewhat coherent. Glad you guys enjoyed it. Believe me I really wanted to.

Ok. I didn't think this thread had anything to do with art. I never thought I'd see a Michael Bay film tied in with art. However, if you'd like, I shall respond by telling you to read something else, Oscar Wilde's "Preface to Dorian Gray"

Criticism and art are two different categories.

I'm confused, however: are you implying that this film "artistic" in some sense?

You are moving from my argument however, which was that this movie is terribly organized, sloppily shot, and physical uncomfortable to watch. I see nothing pleasing about Michael Bay's obsession with 360 degree per second shots. It actually made me pretty sick.

i am insinuating that it is hilarious for someone like you to criticize something you don't/can't produce yourself. In the absence of any substance--ability to produce a movie--you move to role of critic. Your criticism is therefore worthless. If you like it, great. If you don't, great. I just think it is dumb for people to tell you that liking that movie would apparently make you the dumbest person ever because onkly they know what is a "good" movie

You clearly don't understand the term "critic"

I never said that...I just said the movie sucked and Michael Bay is an idiot. Doesn't mean some people won't like the movie.

Just got back from seeing it. The only good I can say about it is the action (when I could tell what was happening) and the special effects were top notch. Nobody can do military action like Bay.

However, I echo what some other posters have said. The rest of the movie was nothing more than lowbrow humor, an inconsistent plot, and little-to-no characterization.

I'm still in shock that the people making this movie thought Skids and Mudflap were a good idea. They were beyond offensive, and not funny.

Bay obviously just didn't care. How else to explain how the characters go to the Air and Space Museum in Washington, and when they exit, they're in the middle of the desert. Why not just say they're going to Arizona?

Optimus dies? The matrix? What a complete ripoff of the animated movie. I'm just disappointed "You Got the Touch" didn't start playing when Sam put the matrix in Optimus.

I could list a hundred other things wrong with this movie. I haven't been this disappointed with a sequel since "Weekend at Bernie's 2."

Just got back. Liked it. Cheesy dialogue some bad acting, but Megan Fox slomo's and badass action/special effects. Worth 8 dollars for sure.

spoilers:

ETA: That other chick that seduces him is fricking crazy hot. I wanted to jump her bones until she went all crazy decepticon

I haven't read every post and apologize if this has been mentioned but if you go to a movie like this expecting a well developed plot and seemless flow then you're setting yourself up for disappointment from the get go.

These kinds of movies and made simply for shear enjoyment for those who like action packed movies.

Except for a couple of minor luls in action, this movie kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I welcomed the few instances of comic relief also. I would pay to see this movie many times over.

As someone else mentioned above, the two movies in this series left me thinking about it for days after. That's how ANY good movie should leave the people who watch them.

OK, so the next time that a left tackle misses a block on Shawn Merriman or a corner back is burned by Randy Moss, you'll refrain from criticism or comment because you can't do that. Gotcha.
