I remember the thread about the first episode plot twist. I've seen nothing sense.

I actually enjoy the show. Hits me in the feels at times. Just wondered the thoughts of this board.

A. Solid show.

B. Mindless predictable drivel?

C. Damn good compared to what the big networks have to offer?

It's no master piece of a Mad Men scale, but I do enjoy it and freely admit it.

A & C for sure. Not predictable IMO. I enjoy it and am looking forward to see where it goes. I enjoy the Randall character, their father, and have warmed up to Kevin.

This is a cheating answer but it's all three to me. Better than most shows on the networks, solid & unique story, and at least one completely eye rolling-cheesedick moment per episode for me. But I mean it's an ABC drama, that is to be expected.

Agreed that Randall is the man.

Anyone else sort of fast forward through Kates' scenes... she grosses me out onscreen.

I really like this show. It's the first thing I watch on Wednesday morning. I'm curious to find out what happens to their dad and how the mom ended up with the best friend.

I also like Randal. But, then again, i like all the stories.

I know. They keep leading up to it being bad. I just don't want it to be too horrible. Then it makes the show less believable. Or unwatchable. Especially with the timeline jumping.

Yeah they are killing off characters but keeping them around with timeline.

I just don't want it too depressing. To the point where at some point you are saying "frick this family."

NYPD Blue was like that for me but I guess they knew they went too far. Sipowicz sons leukemia scare was it for me. I decided if they gave that kid leukemia I was done with the show. How much suffering can you tolerate with a character? And with Sipowicz being a drunk? After all that loss? Hell I'd give up and be a total lush if after that the child got taken.

Wife and I missed the last 3 episodes so we watched them last night on Hulu. I think it's a great show. I'm not a hardcore critic like a lot of people here. It is what it is. Randall is awesome. Their dad is awesome. frick miguel (so far), feel bad for randall's dad, warming up to kevin, frick mandy moore (so far), and i can't handle kate. she drives me nuts (almost as bad as sarah braverman's daughter from Parenthood). Also, randall's youngest daughter is pretty stinkin cute.

gf and I really like it

Characters are all pretty great, though Toby is terrible

Can be mushy at times, but doesn't overdo it

A & C.

Randall is my favorite character. I think his mom hid his bio father from him to protect him.

Kate's boyfriend is a jerk. He knows she's serious about losing the weight, pursues her until he gets her, then announces he's abandoning the weight-loss program. I think he wants her to fail, too.

I think dad either had a heart attack, or he died in an accident. I, too, am curious to know how mom wound up marrying the best friend. All three kids seem to dislike him; after so many years have passed and they merely tolerate them out of respect for their mother, it must be something fairly unsavory. Affair, maybe?

A co-worker told me that the actress who plays Kate has it in her contract that she has to lose weight as the show progresses. So if this is still on in 2 years, Kate might be skinny.

I watch the show and it's ok. Kind of reminds me of Parenthood in a way. I am sick of Kate & Toby though and it's not b/c they're fat but because being fat is so they talk about. I know some fat people and they actually have conversations about things beside food & being fat. I always scream at the tv, we get it, you're fat. Now talk about something else.

Something made me think Toby quit trying to lose weight because it was so much easier for him than it was for Kate. He didn't want to make her jealous. That's just how I saw it, maybe it's not true.

We are really enjoying this show. When dad was doing pushups with Randall on his back, it hit me in the feels.

Agree with the Toby/Kate storyline. You're fat, we know. What else is going on in your lives?
