re: Anyone purchased a puppy from Huntington Farms in Covington?
Posted by La Cucaracha on 4/27/24 at 11:12 am
I have two rescue Goldens and decided to add a puppy a couple of years ago after the death of my foster failure. My vet advised me to stay away from Louisiana-bred Goldens because of the high incidence of cancer and heart disease he sees from Louisiana dogs. He thinks a shallow gene pool may be a fa...

Funny that no one is blaming Monique Blanco for the increase in crime. I am no Josh Guillory fan, but he would have been eviscerated if it happened under his watch. ...

I remember. The body was found in Coulee Mine, off of Hillside Dr.
My concern is this area is slowly deteriorati...
I lived across the street from there when I was at ULL. It was getting sketchy 20 years ago, so I’d imagine it’s full blown ghetto by now.
The apartments in that area didn’t go full blown ghetto until Northside was labeled Upper Lafayette, and this section of the Southside was labe...

Headline reader, eh? Read any article written about the sale, not the headline, and you will see it is a bad deal for all of us who have BCBS.
If you think BCBSLA is bad, Elevance is worse. Much worse. They are the Humana Medicare Advantage Plan o...
re: Hosted my whole family for Xmas and they left this morning and they all did laundry. Why?
Posted by La Cucaracha on 12/27/23 at 7:49 pm
I always wash my guests’ clothes before they leave. It’s my way of thanking them for visiting.
When I travel, I ask if it’s okay to do my laundry the day before I leave. I also strip the bed the morning I leave, and wash and dry them. If I have an early flight, I toss them in the washer and run...

In conjunction with therapy, he can try Nightware. It’s an Apple app that’s prescribed to help people with PTSD sleep better. The claim will probably be denied, you will have to appeal, and will likely be approved upon appeal. My company is in a pilot program for Nightware and this is what we’re exp...

My vet feeds his dog Purina. My friend, who is also a vet but doesn’t live close enough to see my dogs, also feeds her dogs Purina.
Honestly, I would probably feed Royal Canin but with three Golden Retrievers it is cost prohibitive, so I feed Pro ...

Posted by La Cucaracha on 10/19/23 at 10:06 pm
There’s a rumor running around Lafayette that Juban’s bought the Cafe V property.
Haven’t eaten at Juban’s in years and am disappointed to hear the lackluster reviews here. I will say, though, my first response to the Juban’s rumor was “I would have preferred Mansurs.”...
