I gave it an 8/10.

What more do you want? I, AT LEAST, detailed my criticisms.

They’re doing really well with the Luke to obi wan role. They even threw in a little obi wan from ROTS, when he tells Kylo that he failed him.

I fully expect a force ghost in 9.

“See you around kid”

And the scene where the remaining rebels see Rey lifting the rocks was pretty cool.

Not sure about the Snoke death.

Luke v Kylo might have been my favorite Jedi battle. Though I really wanted to see Luke wreck shite...I couldn't have been more satisfied with how they handled it.

I kind of would have preferred if he redirected the AT-AT’s fire back at them only using the Force.

Was fully expecting all the lasers to be still around him in a ball - and when the smoke cleared Luke would unleash a force explosion that rocketed the lazers back at the first order.

Loved the end of the movie. Didn't even catch that the kid used the force to grab the stick but that was due to being second row from the screen in an Imax and some things were just blurred for me. But I thought that they did a great job of establishing what type of folks, when given a little bit of hope, can grow to make a difference in the rebellion (even going back to TFA with Finn's beginnings and now he's proud of being rebel scum). Luke's monologue of "Today the rebellion is reborn" combined with the ragtag group of heroes on the Falcon, and the kids at the end, was the most "Star Wars" feeling we've gotten since the original trilogy.

Wow, I can't believe the hate this is taking in the other thread. I loved it. Was it a perfect movie? No. But it was far more original than TFA and I can't wait to see where they take this.

It seems that a lot of people are pissed about Rey's parents, but I get the feeling there is more to that.

I also wonder how they'll be able to write Leia out of the next one.

The scene where the admiral hyper spaces directly into the huge ship... Saw it in IMAX 3D, holy shite it was beautiful, I expected the movie to cliffhanger right there to be honest.

I thought it was terrific. Just wish Luke hadn't gone but I was ok with how it happened.

Takes me back to 5th grade. Not too much to complain about.

Nah it’s not. Was a fun, exciting, inspiring Star Wars movie. Maybe you shouldn’t watch them anymore; you obviously don’t enjoy them so you should probably stop going to see them, much less on premiere night. Anyways, there’s another thread where everyone’s bitching so take the complaints over there.

I have no problem with anything story wise...I really liked every scene with driver and Ridley

The film is a complete mess. At one point is has 4 separate narrative threads. Every line of dialogue is terrible...and terribly delivered

This is Star Wars mythology. You can cry that Star Wars no longer is the Skywalker story or you can get on board. I'm sure you'll be there opening night for E9.

And it's not a terrible film. It's a little overstuffed but it juggles every thread pretty well. Ultimately the main meat of the plot was a simple escape from the bad guys and that led different places but it was pretty contained.

to hate a bloated movie with 4 plot threads, terrible writing and (save for Ridley and driver) terrible acting

Plots were all over the map, and hardly connected. I admit there were a few cool scenes...but so bad. So much bad in it.

No, I’m fine with any direction they want to take the story. I thought this had mostly good ideas

It has nothing to do with that at all

There are good movies and bad movies...and this is a bad, bad, bad movie

He is either 12 or an adult who is way too invested in these fantasy worlds to just enjoy them for the escapism and entertainment they are mean to be.

I’ve been scrolling through the twitter hash tag and I find it interesting that it is very polarizing, about 50% love/hate. My whole thing is why do the people who hate it so much care so much to freak out about it. If you don’t like something move on to something else. Those of us who enjoyed it will keep on watching and the franchise will live on without the haters who say it’s dead to them (though if you’re tht passionate to say such a thing then you will probably see every Star Wars movie regardless of what you say).

It was a fantastic movie.

Crawl back to your safe space. You’re so insecure the only way you can get self worth is through tearing other people down.
