Sure is a lot of misery in the non-miserable audience thread.

It’s a struggle, but we are the spark that will light a fire to burn the cynics down.

Let’s be honest, half of them just hate it because a black guy had a starring role. There’s really no other explanation.

And don’t forget all those icky girls in protagonistic and heroic roles.

Have you actually read any of the other threads?

Have you actually read any of the criticisms of the movie? I've seen 1 or 2 "SJW" complaints and that's basically it.

Yet you came here to bitch as well because you can’t accept the fact that some people want to enjoy the movie.

Opinions of the movie aside, this is the dumbest thing I’ve seem all week.

You don’t need a thread of any type to enjoy a movie. Especially not one that desires to limit the applicable audience.

You don’t want to enjoy the movie. You want some kind of echo chamber validation.

So stop being a bitch and trying to hide your reasons behind a veil of feel good emotions

Something, something, pot meeting kettle. I did enjoy the movie, has nothing to do with wanting to enjoy the movie. I do want to enjoy discussing it which you can’t do with whiny arse grown men who so upset their childhood hero didn’t live on furever!!

Considering I haven’t even decided how I felt about this movie, much less expressed it anywhere here, you trying to pigeon hole me into a box of your own construction is quite hilarious.

But nope, you are looking for discussion. Not self indulgent validation. That’s why you downvoted my post, typed an asinine reply, and self upvoted.

I didnt self upvote, that’s so dumb. And my wording at the end was careful not to necessarily loop you in with those “whiny arse grown men” that I mentioned. I picked up that you weren’t giving your own opinion yet, which is fine. But you still did attack me with a straw man bull shite comment which is just not true.

I would love to discuss the movie with people who actually try to enjoy themselves at the theatre. We can even discuss criticisms, I just don’t want to become a bitchfest focusing only on the things we dislike (and truthfully, I didn’t dislike much. There were some mixed signals in the movie I felt, but I’m interested how I interpret them upon a rewatch).

So to repeat again, I loved the movie, came away thinking last night that it was possibly the best damn Star Wars movie I’ve watched. And yes I would like to discuss it with folks who also enjoyed it and come away away with the same positive feelings I had. But it is interesting how polarizing the movie is, and that could be worth discussing too.

I can respect that. I feel the same way about Revenge of the Sith. I can’t stand it but some people love it.

I wish I could but I just can’t have fun with that movie. It’s just a personal taste thing.

I don't understand why some of you guys have to reply to every single persons comment with such spite. You said your peace about the movie, let it go already. Nothings going to change, and trying to belittle everyone else is just childish.

There's a difference between a movie being good vs it being enjoyable. If someone enjoyed TLJ then thats great. I wish I had, but I can see how some people would for sure. Maybe I will enjoy it more after another viewing.

Enjoyable or not though, TLJ is not a good movie.

I don’t consider the SJW complaints to be valid, but there are some very valid reasons to not like this movie. I think the point of contention was that this was not the thread for that, and that a few nit-picky things does not make a movie “suck” or “omg star wars is dead to me!” That’s just being hyperbolic. This thread was for discussing what people liked about it, and other threads could discuss what people didn’t like.

Okay to each is own, and I can see how it is definitely a polarizing movie to some.

I wasn't really taking about how it was good or not. I was saying the way people are behaving is awful, and if you have to spend all day on a message board calling everyone else idiots and "sheep" then maybe you need to reevaluate how you spend your time.

It's like it's taboo these days to actually like something.

It’s like they’re trying so hard to be non-conformists that they end up conforming to their own hive mind. Don’t you know, all non-conformists drink coffee...
