So I'm guessing this scene will be an opening scene showing how Harley (and Joker) ended up in jail in order to be recruited by the Suicide Squad.

There are rumors that Joker won't be a full member but more of a Hannibal Lecter-type, behind the scenes and in prison.

They could be just flashback scenes showing how his relationship with Harley started, and how they're eventually caught. I do understand the concern thou, I hope the actual suicide squad gets plenty of attention and it's not just the joker and harley show.

I don't know. I'm starting to warm up to the looks of the characters. Seeing them together along with the wacky atmosphere that they're going for, it looks kind of cool to me. I watched that scene again where we see how Leto will be playing the Joker and it gets me excited. Maybe there are some things I would have done differently with the tattoos and such, but I think it's coming together as a package nicely. Maybe it's from seeing Batman on top of that purple car with Joker and Harley inside. It just looks so comic bookish and it's something we've never seen on film before. I'm starting to forget the problems I had with the tattoos and stuff and just being happy with everything else I'm seeing.

I'll give it this much - from what has been shown so far, this movie looks like it wants the audience to have actual FUN.

The more I see of this the more I'm digging it. I'm even starting to like the Jokers look. It's not far off from some more recent comic versions of the Joker.
Also remember this isn't supposed to be a realistic world like Nolan's Batman. Just look at the Batman vs Superman trailer. That's not realistic and that's in the same universe. It's supposed to look like a live action comic book. I'm thinking once editing is done it will be visually badass.
Another reason for high hopes IMO is just that of all the superhero/ comic book movies that have come out in the last 5 years there has been far more hits than misses. Complete opposite of '00-'10 when a superhero movie was more likely to blow. The industry has learned how to do these movies the right way and they just keep getting better at it.
