Finished episode 1 this morning and am jone sing to watch more. Excellent combo of nostalgia, creepiness, and mystery. Enjoying the characters so far.

Not sure how I feel about this shaved head girl character yet. I kind of liked the "small town visited by sinister aliens" approach on its own but I'll go with it

So impressed, the show I didn't even know I was waiting for. And holy shite, the soundtrack of a GTA game

I just read an article saying they're already writing for a second season, so that's exciting. I just got done watching it, I loved it. And like the person above me said, the music is amazing.

Its a really good show. I just finished it. The music is great. Sounded like the movie Scarface in some scenes. All around great show. Its rare to see kids carry a show.

We are debating letting our boys watch this with us. They are 10 and 11. Is there anything inappropriate for a kid their age?

I am about 15 minutes in.

I'll let others answer for sex and stuff, I doubt it with the vibe of the show and kids carrying it.

There is cursing. shite, pussy, etc.

Some scary elements, but nothing too crazy.

I mean I girl takes of her clothes and shows her bra. I'm sure your 10 and 11 year old have probably already seen porn and naked chicks already

And the sex scene is like 5 seconds and is like a pg version sex scene

Watched the first 4 episodes and it's really good so far.

The music is great...Joy Division's Atmosphere at the end of E3 .

The original music reminds me a lot of Tangerine Dream from the mid 70's and early 80's.

I am not reading any more of the thread since I don't want to read any spoilers but man this is good. I am on Chapter 3 and totally hooked.

I am getting a ton of Poltergeist vibes. It all started when the mom tells Will she got them tickets to see it. That got my mind thinking about the movie. It seems like these people may get stuck in-between their world and another. The pool scene in episode 3 and the scene with the girl at the TV also brought back memories of Poltergeist. Subtle but constant reminders seem to be there.

Depends on what your parenting sensibilities are. Wife and I are on episode 5 and we will not let our 12 and 14 year old watch it. But to each his own

Best explanation is that it's like if they set the X Files in the 80s and followed the cast of the Goonies.

I'm only 4 episodes in but in my opinion, it's like they took the Goonies and put them in a Doom game (the lab facility and the shite on the walls along with the creature thing that looks like an Imp from Doom) and then they tossed in a little Carrie for good measure.
