The biggest flaw was the ceremony at the end that gave Lucas the idea to use it again in some of the other films.

When the original film was re-released on April 10, 1981, Episode IV: A New Hope was added above the original opening crawl.

It was rereleased in theaters? How could my parents have kept this information from me?

luke's aunt and uncle are murdered and he basically never deals with it or cares after that initial shock. more of an "aw shucks" reaction.

They were the only thing holding him back from joining the rebellion. If he would have returned with Obi Wan, then his uncle would have out his foot down to protect him.

After seeing them slaughtered he swore to help Obi Wan as he saw it as a way to seek revenge against the empire.

I thought it was a bit of a stretch that luke, a farm boy with very little experience, was able to get into an x-wing and dominate over other experienced fighters .

I disagree. It is brought up multiple times that he is a pretty decent pilot. During the attack planning he says that he used to bullseye womprats in his T-16 which are no bigger than the target. He later compares the trench along the Death Star to being "just like Beggar's Canyon back home."

It is as if he has had numerous experiences preparing him for that moment. Also, he used the force to guide him along and to hit the target.

The movie's answer is two fold:
1) The Force
2) The Lineage

Plus, he used to bullseye womp rats in his T-16 back home. It was pretty well accepted that Luke was a really good pilot. Add the Force use in there, and there you go.

My one beef? They never really explained how the Death Star got around in the movies. Was it able to travel in hyperspace? And if so, was the gravity well so large around Yavin that it had to drop out behind the planet?

I guess it wasn't a flaw until after 1,2 and 3 were made, but why did Ben not remember C3PO or R2D2?

Why would Ben remember a random Astromech? It'd be like someone bringing you a laptop 30 years from now and telling you "this used to belong to you."

The biggest flaw was that in a society that has mastered galactic travel, was the they could not E-Mail plans for a battle station to each other.

Luke was just better because it was in his blood to pilot a ship. Pure talent only gets you so far, but the Force then can help.

He also had been a pilot back on his home planet. A little experience in the cockpit helps, too.

Obi-Wan Kenobi mentioned that he had heard of Luke's reputation in the cockpit when they first meet.

But they weren't really random. They were specific to many pivotal parts of his past I thought. Figured he would remember C3PO at least since Anakin built him. But seeing that you used the word Astromech lets me know that I am way out of my league. Just seems to me that he would have remembered.

Star Wars has no flaws. It has an answer to everything and that is The Force.

If you go into a Sci-fi film looking for reality then i would have to say you are the flawed one.

Funny thing is, if the Death Star was a couple of years behind schedule, Luke may have been an Imperial pilot.

How about that fatty flying next to Luke? No way a big guy like that would be qualified or allowed to fly an x-wing.

Ridiculous.
