She's extremely athletic, does her own stunts, and was a sparring partner of Carano's when they were on their off time filming the Fast and Furious movie they were in together. Gadot is highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat.

You do realize that the only women built like that in Hollywood cant act for shite?
Better off taking a decent actress and bulking her up than taking a she-beast into the leading role.

Saying Gadot is "almost 5'11." is saying she is 5'10. I could easily say Carano is "almost 5'9."
Long story short, Carano is 2 inches shorter, but has loads more muscle and and tons of tattas. I really wanted to see those tits in the Wonder Woman constume.
That all being said, Gadot is the better acctress, and you cant build 2 inches in height through hard work. You can build muscle. She just wont ever put on the weight needed for the role. Gadot's face fits the bill better, Carano's jawline would have easily worked as well. Just would have been the "American" wonder woman. Rather than an exotic amazon look.
Gadot has grown on me, I still wish it was Carano. Though outside of the 2 of them, the list of women who could do it is WAY shorter than most people think.
I'm more concerned with Affleck still. Not his acting, or if he can fit the "Batman" bill. I am mainly concerned because he is so old. They are trying to launch a new movie universe, why go with old man Bats? It doesnt make any sense.

Carano can barely keep from looking into the camera. She is one of the least talented actresses in film. She would be a horrible lead for anything other than a SyFi Channel sharknado movie.

I've warmed a bit to Gadot. Stills have been solid, even though she's not the clear cut best choice.
The only issue is that Cavill is massive. We haven't really seen her next to him. That's probably the make or break moment for her being a good addition. If the camera trickery works well enough, she may look alright.

Gadot is hotter than Carano. What are y'all expecting from Hollywood? I don't really give a shot about Wonder Woman, and I'm burned out on comic book movies, but if there were even a slight chance that I'd watch this, I'd rather watch an attractive feminine woman in the role.

Wouldn't it be more important to find someone who can act rather than just the right body type? How many Amazon type women who can act well do you think are running around Hollywood? Not exactly a lot of feature films looking to cast female versions of the Mountain.
