Yeah, Sandler himself I think is feeling guilty over the shite he's producing, but still half-asses the best concept he's had for a movie since Click. If you put Seth Rogan, Judd Apatow, and co. on this concept, they would have made it gold. Sorry, but this seems like a home run in any half way decent writer's hand who has an actual passion for video games.

And I also heard Peter Dinklege got all of his high scores by hacking all the games, which any gamer could tell you that the more simple the game, the more obvious the cheat. You really can't convincingly hack into 80s games. Everyone would know within the second since they are highly defined by rules compared to games that came after. If a glich happens, it's fricking obvious, so it's just laughable they make this a point, and I don't even think you could hack Donkey Kong unless you brought the machine in itself after you hacked it.

It's funny that his movies are awful and he is laughing all the way to do the bank.

Jack and Jill had a $79 million budget and made $149 in the box office.. So this dude is still banking his arse off.

Everyone knows he's rich, and stupid people watch stupid shite, but movies should strive to at least be competent. And there's a difference between dumb fun and just complete fricking garbage.

They don't make jack shite from ticket prices. I've worked for 2, was a manager at 1. We made maybe 25 cents off of each ticket. It was all about concessions.

Ehhh, he's not really making as much money these days, and that was the start. The public is starting to catch up that his movies are shite. That's just the budget of the film, but doesn't include the marketing costs. Jack and Jill made a minor profit at best.

That's My Boy lost 20 million dollars before marketing

Hotel Transylvania... ok, made great profit off of that one and likely will with the sequel.

Grown-Ups 2 was a sequel that retards liked.

Blended made 3 times it's budget, but only because Adam wanted to make money sending his family to Africa for the summer and invite his buddy Drew for the adventure. I know only taking 15 million was a big sacrifice for him to take his family on a African Safari, but somehow he managed and probably made a few million dollar profit after marketing.

His low budget film bombed entirely though. And Pixels is as well. Adam Sandler is pretty hit or miss these days. The only reason he gets any work these days is he figured out long ago to completely whore out with corporate sponsorships. He's really always been a whore, as evidenced by Little Nicky. With Happy Gilmore, it logically made sense that he needed a corporate sponsor within the confines of the script, and that was all fine and dandy. But with Little Nicky, they bring up Popeye's Chicken (in New York no less) probably every third scene, make it a very prominant plot point, and then have him run Popeye's at the end. Seriously, what the frick does Popeye's have anything to do with the son of Satan going to New York?

It's still the single worst product placement of all time, and Sandler should be tarred and feathered for that, but he learned nothing from doing that bomb early on in his career (only made $60 million on an $80 million dollar budget). He's only become a bigger whore since then.

I mean real talk everyone could see this was a turd from a million miles away. I couldn't believe people here were throwing out buzzwords like "creative" and "original" in the "what do you think of Pixels" threads. Happy Madison schlock in all its (un)glory.

Seems like Click was the last movie he really gave a crap about.

And I actually kinda really liked that movie.

I'll catch this movie when it inevitably cycles through FX a dozen times.

I'm not even sure what the last Adam Sandler movie I watched was. Probably 20 minutes of Grown Ups before I turned it off.

If that's work, that's a very low bar.

Variety had a nice little article yesterday on the problems with Sandler's career. His last few movies have bombed but now he has this deal with Netflix so box office isn't important. I'm sure those movies will all suck too.

I'm just shocked he has time to make movies whilst apparently spending most of his free time banging y'alls old ladies.

Maybe its because I was too young to understand basic product placement, but I thought that was hilarious. I liked Little Nicky FWIW, even if it was the start of a downhill trend in Adam Sandler movies.

Worst product placement belongs to Chuck with Subway. I love the show so much, but there were at least a few instances each season that were pretty much a Subway commercial.

But I have seen someone on here pretty much say they only did this because Subway basically kept the show afloat, so I guess that makes it better.
