"Ray Donovan": Season 1 Premiere

Heads up, I watched the 1st episode on my Showtime App and it doesn't suck. I recommend watching the show.

Looking forward to watching it.

If it sucks, I'm dropping Showtime after the Dexter final. Nurse Jackie and The Borgias doesn't justify keeping Showtime imo if Ray Donovan sucks.

I'm inclined to agree with this.

I would likely too

But I get free SHO with my place. Plus, I'm hoping Homeland can get back to being 1st season good.

Ray Donovan = West Coast Tony Soprano

So far I like!

IMO it is more like a show about the Wolf, and its awesome that we get a show like this about that kind of character. But you are the 3rd person I've seen or heard use the Soprano comparison. It's not off base or anything....., but I think it's better (or too good) than having to compare his character to TS. He's just Ray Donavan, not a second hand, west coast version of TS

Is this series based off books or is it all original screenplay?

FYI

HBO kicks Showtime's arse in everything.

Well this airs concurrent to Dexter, so this sucking shouldn't be affecting whether you keep it or drop it.

What's interesting is they moved up the broadcast of Dexter earlier in the year, staggering Dexter and Homeland. I bet a lot of people carried Showtime for Dexter/Homeland and dropped the rest of the year.

Dexter

Homeland
