I like the sarcastic Roger. Screw Joan and Peggy - Peggy comments along the line of "sorry you weren't missed" Don showed class by not jumping on her throat and being the adult.
Nice when Roger stated "what about her?" Referring to Peggy still having her boots in the office.

One last thing - is that is ok that Betty she lost her sandmich in a trade for some gummy candy?

She handled that entire situation poorly. Bobby was just trying to be nice to a classmate who didn't have lunch. You would think a mother would have some sympathy about this and not act like spoiled b****. Even worse, Betty carried this entire situation back home and was still crying over the situation when Henry asked if she was hungry.

Maybe he thought they moved her since Lou has his own secretary.
Don had no idea she was promoted

I agree. It had just happened and she hadn't said anything. Also, he's under the impression that everything is fine and he's coming back in to the way things were and that everyone at the firm knows.
Then when he gets there and Roger isn't in and then he starts realizing that nobody knows he's thrown off guard. He's sees the name on the door, but is still confused by the whole thing.
He gets a pass.

I don't know that he necessarily put two and two together and she was pretty willing to not correct him on it either. So that's as much on her as it is anyone else.
Just got around to watching the episode. And I figure this is an appropriate time to ration out my "frick You"s for this episode:
frick Joan for being an ungrateful bag of tits.
frick Peggy (even though I understand why) for being another ungrateful bag of tits.
frick Megan for being an angsty psycho actress who probably offs herself before the season is over.
frick Betty and her sammiches. Cause she's Betty.*
frick Lou for being an unproductive asshat. And taking up valuable office space.
*What the frick has happened to the women on this damn show? They're all like a bunch of damn Bettys. I'm all Team Sally. She's the only one with some damn sense.
As far as Don taking the offer, I figure he knew they made that kind of unreasonable offer in order to try to run him off. That chances were good that he doesn't take it and tells them to go frick themselves. But instead he gives them the ol' frick you by agreeing to it and I'm willing to bet he succeeds like a champ when Lou quits over his mere superior presence. Better yet, watch Don dip into the media portion of the agency that's been neglected with Harry and watch it turn into an insanely money maker for the company.
Yes I'm still hoping for a little bit of a redemption arc for Don.

Oh and Roger is the man. So glad to have his feisty arse back inbetween acid trips.

They have always had huge flaws just like the men. All the Joan and Peggy diehards conveniently forget that one slept her way into a partnership and the other had a child with a coworker and refused to deal with it because of her own career.
I still like Peggy and she has a reason to be upset for what happened last year. But frick Joan. Ungrateful bitch. The way she talks down to Don in that meeting and when she first sees him makes me want to slap the frick out of her.

By majority though, we've at least been able to take the good with the bad with the men (especially Don) and somehow still find something enjoyable about their character. Last night was just sheer countiness. And not the least bit entertaining either. Joan being like that doesn't surprise me much. Peggy on the other hand it did. She's far too bitter at this point.

I agree with that. It was definitely motivated though. Joan has recently been promoted and she sees Don as a threat to her security in her new position. Look at how she said during the meeting "Things are working this way. How does he fit in?" (not sure exact quote) She is worried about Don screwing that up. Peggy blames Don (unfairly) for Ted leaving her. I blame Ted for the Don vs. Peggy thing because Ted was a total bitch about the situation. Don didn't help with his actions in that meeting where he called them out.
I do see a Suitcase Version 2 moment around the corner for them. I don't think the show keeps Peggy like this much longer. It will have been almost half a year since Ted dumped her by the next episode, so it's time for her to get over it.

Obviously. But Roger has as much to lose if Don comes in and screws with the agency flow as the rest of the partners. Difference is he knows where his bread is buttered. And he has sense enough to know that what appears to be "working" for some of them really isn't working as well as they thought (i.e. the comments about Lou being pretty much worthless).

Honestly, she doesn't see it now but Don knew her well enough to know that shite was going to hit the fan. And probably did her a favor by calling it out before it ruined her career. As you said though, it's time she gets over her shite.

I got this feeling Don is going to buy Harry his computer

I know your feels.
It really does make a lot of sense. We all know in this day and age that media, not print, is where advertising really blows up. I'd love to see Don build it up there until he's able to break away and build it on his own.

You have rocked this thread. Great observations. I actually did LOL at the Joan "bag of tits" comment. I think Don is in for a "Phoenix" moment and will arise from the ashes with a new "Glo-Coat" or Carousel. I'm thinking he just might land American Airlines.
Posted on 4/29/14 at 8:36 pm to BluegrassBelle
He's probably looking at $50,000 tops for a computer. I think Don can scratch that up

Not too sure about this.
Peggy is just miserable right now. The Joan anger seemed weird to me, and Betty is gonna Betty, but Megan's rage made sense. Don been an a-hole to her. He has lied for months about not going to work, sitting on his arse all day watching tv and not drinking (that much) while she went to LA at his urging. I'd be pretty pissed too.

Me too. That good bye with Sally from episode 2 was tremendous. But I don't really see this SC&P deal ending well for Don. No booze and a script for meetings? Working under Lou? I'm pulling for him, but I don't know if he's ready to handle the complete shift in his work life. Sally needs to come live with him to keep him straight.

Right now I almost hope the prostitution thing comes back to bite Joan in the arse. I don't know how she can be on her moral high horse with Don. Everyone in that room has questionable morality at best.
I will say Weiner has done a great job turning almost every fan back to Don's side after he was such a miserable human last year. That worries me that he could be setting us up for a Don collapse.

I agree. Of all the women on the show Megan has absolutely earned the right to be pissed at Don. He has treated her pretty terribly from the last half of Season 5 on.
