Looking for a series to start watching daily with my wife at the end of the day.

What would the board suggest?

I hear that Spacey is brilliant in HOC but it's a little slower and based on politics. I hear that Homeland is based on the CIA/Terrorism, is a little more fast paced, but is less consistent(quality).

Help.

Watch season one of Homeland and then stop.

Then watch House of Cards

I watch both, but as the seasons progress Claire Danes makes Homeland almost unwatchable for me so I would go with House of Cards

Chuck. Fast paced, spy stuff, comedy, hot girls, relationship drama for the wife.

Don't listen to the homeland haters, after season 3 it's awesome. Seasons 2 and 3 are good not great

1,4, and 5 are amazing. It's a good show

This. Every season is good.

House if Cards still has it's moments but I like Homeland better overall.

I know it's the unpopular opinion but the Seasons 3 and 4 were my favorite storyline wise, but I absolutely loved the entire series.

This sounds about right. I really like both of these shows, but I'd start with Homeland. You should watch the first season of both and see what grabs you two more.

Oh damn I didn't realize that Damian Lewis, the LT from Band of Brothers was in this!

There is nothing slow about house of cards unless you need an explosion in your TV dramas every scene. It's based in politics but it's not political. It's fun as hell to watch (besides season 3 which is a bit of a chore to watch)

Season 1 of homeland is probably the single best season of any tv show I've ever seen. Even better than any individual season of my goat, the wire.

The entire show revolves around him and Claire Danes. They are the catalyst for nearly every situation. Damian Lewis is a great actor.

If you go this route then you must try the Homeland drinking game. Be prepared though because it gets pretty bad when you have to finish your drink if Chris Brody has a blank stare on his face or if someone asks him to leave the room. Both happen a lot

I love both but Homeland. People say its gets worse, but HOC falls off more than Homeland does.
