I've got the HBO subscription as a channel on my Amazon Prime account, will I have to wait for the episode to come out or can I watch it live?

My prediction: Brienne and Pod are going to be missing all season and then in the last episode get in a boat wreck with Gendry.

But seriously, I can't wait for Sunday night.

I dont think you can watch it live Sunday. Apparenlty HBO is also pulling all GoT content from Amazon next year.

I think Gendry still has a big part to play. Doesn't he know how to reforge Valyrian Steel? I'm pretty sure Tobho Mott did and Tywin used him to reforge Ice into Widow's Wail and Oathkeeper.

The HBO Now app has a free trial month. I have regular HBO so I've never used it but from what I've read they load GOT the same time as the network showing.

I'm pretty sure if the smith taught Gendry how to forge valayrian steel (a talent only a handful of people possess), then I'm prettt sure he wouldn't have given Gendry to the NW

He knew Gendry was going to get killed if he stayed. He can always train another apprentice.

Why would cersai or Dany want to leave a Baratheon alive?

Well, I don't see why Dany would want to kill Robert's bastards so long as they don't try to take the throne from her. Cersei though had to have them killed because they were pretty conclusive proof that Cersei's children weren't Robert's and had no right to the throne.

It is pretty widely believed azor ahai and the last hero are the same person. It is just a different culture telling the same story.

Any chance that the Night King and the Last Hero are the same person?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's a flashback to the events of the Last Hero with that pic that was posted. HBO loves using flashbacks in trailers to try and throw people off.

There are some Crackpot theories on this, but I doubt it.

One of Danys first lessons is that bloodlines are pretty irrelevant. The whole "the country will rise to the rightful king" thing is bullshite. The original targs didn't have a birthright, Robert Baratheon didn't have a birthright.

If she gains control of the Throne, it will be by conquest, not by birthright. Gendry is irrelevant to her claim.

Yeah. I think like OM said, it was to save him from Cersi's/Joffrey's death squads.

I was always a little iffy that Tywin could find a smith to meltdown and reforge a valayrian steel sword into two valayrian steel swords. I think the actual forging itself would be just as important as the base material.

Then again, Tywin was in a very powerful position (pretty much the defacto ruler), so if anybody could find and secure such a smith it would be him.

As long as Gendry picked up the basic methods as an apprentice, I can accept that he could have the skill and the experience as a smith to do it.

Yeah, this I found to be relatively unfeasible that Tywin couldn't get a few Valyrian Steel daggers together and reforge a sword. It's at least prominent enough where the secrets to reforging it haven't been lost.

I'm just grateful that a certain valaryian steel dagger that has been spotted in the trailers wasn't melted down. I have a feeling that it may play a role either this season or next. (not based on any spoilers, cause I haven't heard any about it at all, just based on the glimpse in the trailers).

Skilled smiths can reforge Valyrian steel weapons by melting down existing ones, but it's a difficult process.[4] Two smaller Valyrian steel swords can be made out of a larger greatsword, or a large greatsword made by melting down multiple smaller swords, but the amount of Valyrian steel in the world is finite and extremely rare.
The master-blacksmiths of Qohor are noted among the few who can successfully reforge it - though even they don't know how to make entirely new Valyrian steel

Great find. Thanks. (would it be too much to ask for a cite - not doubting you at all. I just like to read up about that type of stuff).

There are enough Valyrian steel objects in the world for Tywin to find enough for a sword. Marwyn for instance had a Valyrian Steel mask and rod. Plus the dagger was just lying around Robert's possessions, and I don't think Robert would have any issue with Tywin taking that and melting it down.

Plus there has to be enough for the great blacksmiths to work with in order to learn the craft. I just don't buy that Tywin couldn't find enough Valyrian Steel to forge a sword when we see it being used trivially and haphazardly in many circumstances.
