Yeah Dorne was fricked whenever they made Oberyns paramour the main focus there. Her motive made no sense, she literally watched Oberyn volunteer to go to a trial by combat and then wanted to start a war because they "murdered him"

They're all horrible, but I can purge out the Sand Skanks since I can just pretend Myrcella went down and that's all that happened. Plus Tyene is smoking hot.
I can't forget them sacrificing Barristan for fricking Greyworm. I watched those leaked episodes weeks before most this board did, but I was pissed for a few weeks over that and had to let it settle.

Not only that, she plans on starting it by doing the one thing Oberyn under no circumstances would ever do and openly advocated he wouldn't do it: murder an innocent girl. It was just so poorly contrived. Ellara Sand is probably my most disliked character in the show, even more so than Janos Slynt which I thought was almost impossible.

Did we ever figure out what LFs "gift" was to Lady's olenna ?
Posted on 7/12/17 at 9:52 pm to wildtigercat93
I thought it was Lancel
Posted on 7/12/17 at 9:55 pm to saintsfan92612
I remember a lot of people thinking it was Gendry
ETA lancel was already in the high sparrows army. He doesn't really makes sense

Good question, I don't think we were ever told.

Season 2- Shae tells Tyrian that he should've known that she was a whore because a girl does not jump into someone's bed right after almost getting raped
Season 5- Gilly fricks Sam right after almost getting raped

Re-watching Season 6 E10 and I have a question.
After we find out that the server chick in RiverRun turns out to be Arya (same chick that Served Bronn and Jamie wine).
So did Arya take that girl's face AFTER that scene or was that already Arya? If it was already Arya then why did she take such an interest in Jamie by looking at him so intently without killing him as well as Walder?

I assumed she took it after

I thought the clear implication in the episode was that Jaime's lack of interest in shagging her (Arya in disguise) prevented her from getting him alone and killing him.

Does anyone else think there may be more to this shot than appears on the surface?
Stone dragon anyone? Not saying it will actually happen, and it's likely just signifying the impactful moment of Daenerys finally returning to her home, but it's fun to speculate...

I just always assumed it was her taking her first step on the soil of Westeros since her family had to flee when she was a newborn. Her entire life (and the life of her brother) has been spent working towards that moment, now it's been realized.

That really rankled me too. They didn't "murder" him. He chose to fight and was on the verge of winning but got too cocky or greedy in trying to get the Mountain to implicate Tywin.
But I think my main problem with the Dorne storyline was that they took a unique and interesting character in Doran Martel - someone who was just as consumed with revenge and ambition as anyone but who was playing a very intricate long game with infinite patience, and they pretty much just turned him into a nothing character.
To me, the Dorne storyline was the one place they whiffed badly in the entire show. And they were probably smart to cut it off like they did. I kinda wonder if they are planning to wipe out all of the Dorne forces (which are quite numerous if I recall) in another wave of the wand.

That and Barristan getting killed are my only two gripes.

I didn't like the way Barristan went out either. But I can pretty much deal with it.
Because to me, Barristan Selmy was always kind of more of an ideal or maybe avatar (I'm going blank on the right word) or actually two.
First, to me, he represented first the ideal of the knight (just watched the episode where he stands vigil for the young knight killed by the Mountain in jousting because the guy had no one else). And as such was someone who was kind of out of place in the cynical world that actually exists but held his head high. But we already have Brienne for that role - even though she's not technically a knight. And we had Ned Stark for that role a short time as well.
And 2nd he was useful as a wise adviser to Daenerys, especially in Westerosi matters. But he had to be moved so that Tyrion could fill that role.
