rewathing season 5 and two things
1.) GOD i forgot how much the sparrow storyline sucked. The damn faith militant running around in robes and stopping armored knights
2.) How exactly did they cure Shereens greyscale and then just forget how they did it? Thats like finding a cure for cancer and then forgetting to jot it down

Save for Hardhome, that was actually my favorite plot line of the season in how it came back to royally bite Cersei in the arse.

They know how to stop it in children, but not in adults. Multiple children have survived Greyscale, but adults don't and turn into stone men eventually.

everything she does bites her in the arse. its pretty annoyuing to watch LAncel wreck shop against the greatest knights in the city
on that note i just watched Ser Barriston Selmy get killed by a random arse sons of the harpy so frick this season in its arse

The only thing I've ever hated despite all the fricked up shite that has happened.

Wiki of Ice and Fire is my shite.

I wish he hadn't died but despite being 70 years old he still took down like a dozen of them before he went down. Also the sons of harpies were probably mercenaries not some random rich slavers. So it wasn't as bad as it could've been.

He should have at least made it to the assassination attempt on Dany in the pits.

Not nearly as intimidating when they look like they are 5'6

That's bar none the worst scene so far in the show. Worse even than that silly fight with the Sand Snakes.

But it's still amateur screenwriting to the max. Going down defending the single most boring character possibly ever put onto a TV show? At least have him going down defending Dany. This is fricking screenwriting 101. D&D should be above writing such shite.

Ummm, I think that the later is actually the case. They're largely teenagers and people in their 20s avenging their dead fathers after Dany crucified them.

just started that episode actually

I think in season five they were having to really find their sea legs in scriptwriting since they passed the books. Much better in six. Too many dumb and dead spots in five. Season was partially saved by one episode and that was directed by the Lost guy.

Worse than the Sand Skank fight and the Bad Poosy line??
All three scenes demonstrate terribleness.

I was about to say the same thing. I think when they no longer had Martin's writing to fall back on, they stumbled a bit. But they did figure it out and came back really strong last season.

They also had the sense to get off Dorne. Look at the ratings for Dorne episodes. They saw the same thing you did.
Martin didn't introduce Dorne until late so they had no real sense of where to go with it.

I had high high hopes for Dorne after they nailed the casting of Oberyn.
Then not even giving us Quentin or Arianne. I think a lot of people would have gotten behind Arianne's motivations easily and she would have been a much better main focus in Dorne. Then giving us three sand skanks who had to be some of the worst actors they could have possibly cast.
