From my readings, they don't know what causes it. Only that it is sometimes curable in children.

Stannis did attribute the grayscale to the doll on the show.

Yeah he definitely said that the doll gave it to her.
Anyone else think there's going to be a greyscale plague in both Westeros & Essos in the show? They've been emphasizing greyscale A LOTTTT this season.

No. I think a major character will get it. As discussed, Connington isn't in the show, so it will likely be Tyrion or Mormont, probably the latter.

Perhaps grayscale is the key to defeating the White Walkers.

Hodor is the key to defeating the White Walkers.

i think having greyscale will mean she somehow has dragonsblood or something that will allow her to be one of the dragon riders. I think if we see anything about it on Tyrion and Jorah's boat ride, it will only something to further show us what actuay happens to most people who get greyscale, so we can compare that to shereen and say Hmmmm, what's so special about her that she didn't become one of them too?
I don't think Jorah or Tyrion will get the greyscale. They will go on to Dany and she'll tell Jorah he has to fight in the fits to win back her loyalty.

Do y'all think Dany is going to arrest Tyrion for being a "Usurper's Dog" or will all be forgiven when he tells her he killed Tywin and hates Cersei?

Wanna bet a dollar? One of them gets it.

I love when things happen that idk are gonna happen... At times, I envy Hodors everywhere
Great way to finish that episode

No. I think he will tell her everything and Varys will be there to back him up.

It serves no point for one of them to get it. All we need is to see what a "normal" person looks like when they have it. We need tyrion and jorah for other stuff

quote:As others have said, the show has been highlighting it for a reason. I think it could serve a very dramatic point. If one of them gets it, the realization of their imminent death would cause them to do things they might not otherwise do.

I still think they faked this and she became a certain septa.

Greyscale
There have been theories for the books; I think we will definitely see it play a part in the show.

I've always wondered if Ned & Ashara were really in love or not. Ned was a dutiful man and married Cat for the alliance; and I always got the vibe that Cat loved Ned more than Ned loved Cat.

But it won't have the emotional tie if a "normal" person gets it. If there is one thing this show likes to do, it's screwing with folks.

With all the mention of greyscale/stonemen, it sets up the attack by the stonemen on Jorah and his captive. So, we will be seeing them.

This
I think y'all read too much in to what the show must telegraph multiple times over because the majority of the audience are brain dead hodor illiterates who can't pick up on anything unless it's hammered in to their heads...I kid.
But, when they bring in the stonemen to attack, they don't want to have to go back and explain all of this to make it sensible. They want to make the audience well aware of greyscale and the mad stonemen so everyone is on the same page when we go up river with Tyrion and Jorah.
