If Ned simply thought Lyanna was there, he would have brought his army with him. Ned certainly knew he'd find his sister with Lyanna's child there with the remaining members of the Kingsguard.
I'm not really sure I follow this. Why would he bring the army if he just thought he would find Lyanna? Why would he want more people?
edit: Unless you're saying because he wanted it to be a secret?

Plausible deniability?

I don't really think this was the case. I thought Tywin just had Elia's kids killed to appease Robert. I'm not sure he thought about it anymore than that.

Do you even Nymeria bro?

But that's even more suspicious. Why would he go there without his army behind his back? He went there with his most trusted men.
I was hoping that Bronn would train Jaime up, like Ser Ilyn did. It sucks that he's just a crappy fighter now. If the Halfhand can teach himself to fight with his left and become great at it, I think Jaime can learn to be at least good at it. Maybe the hand incident will give him the idea of having a shield or other weapon fitted to his stump.
Which reminds me. Did anyone else notice that Ser Ilyn was dropped from Arya's list? I guess the show is done with him.

I was wondering the same thing about Ghost.
And has the show even mentioned Nymeria since Arya ran him off?

That's exactly what I'm saying. I think he knew that with Robert's dragonspawn comment that he would for sure have the child killed. He knew Jon was there from the start and he wanted as few people as possible to know about this. If he brought his army with him, no way could he have kept this secret.

I agree with that, but what does it have to do with Tywin Lannister?

That with the info I just provided, Tywin should have figured it out on what Ned found there.

So how did Stannis end up married to that psycho bitch Selyse? I know she's a Florent and high born but Stannis should have pawned he off to Renly IMO. How did that match get made?

quote:All speculative, but if he did, he'd have had no reason to go after Jon. He would have known that Ned Stark was not likely to reveal Jon's identity, thereby presenting a rival for his good friend Robert's throne. He would also not be likely to go to war against the North over a child that would have to be legitimized by Robert or his successors in order to be a threat to the throne.
That with the info I just provided, Tywin should have figured it out on what Ned found there.
By the way, what happened to Dawn after Dayne was killed. I don't remember whether or not it was mentioned.

Ned made a trip to Starfall to return it, and Ashara Dayne killed herself. Starfall was the closest castle to the Tower of Joy, so I suspect Ashara tipped off Ned in order to get her brother spared.

Ned returned Dawn to Starfall after the Tower of Joy

I just rewatched the episode and realized that Stannis says his daughter caught the greyscale from a doll. How is that possible?

I noticed that also.
Meanwhile his wife keeps saying she gave birth to a diseased child?

Ok well he sure did imply the wooden doll he gave her as a baby had something to do with it.
