Fact, Audiobook people just don't have the imagination to get into these kind of movies.
Whats the difference between reading them and listening to the unabridged audio books? And you are wrong if you don't think this genre is right up my alley, not to mention I liked the original series.

I liked it okay.
Some thoughts:
1) I didn't learn enough about the main characters to really care about them. Newt needed more dialogue. The Main Girl (can't remember her name, which is a problem) was way too plain looking. I also couldn't figure out her motives until late in the movie.
2) The "Fantastic Beasts" part of the movie didn't really connect to the main plot with Graves/Grindelwald and the Obscurial. It helped show what Newt could do with the help of the beasts and it revealed more about the wizarding world, but I felt like it could have been its own movie. Would have been better too if the whole point of the film was to show Newt finding rare beasts around the world. Maybe a "National Treasure" kind of plot where a separate wizard is hunting them for evil.
3) I didn't like the Grindelwald reveal. Graves seemed like an interesting character who could have been working for Grindelwald. It seems beneath the "Dark Lord" characters to assume someone's identity and work covertly on a mission.
4) I do like the connection to Dumbledore. Ariana Dumbledore was a suppressed magician and could have been an obscurial. This would explain why Grindelwald was so interested in Credence. It wasn't about destroying New York; it was about Ariana. Could it be possible that Dumbledore was trying to keep Ariana alive to harness her power as an obscurial?

Tonk's was super clumsy in HP. Also, Americans are a lot different than Britts. Our standards aren't as high. Haha.

This is interests me a lot. How does he still have a wand?
Hagrid was expelled and had his wand snapped, granted it was repaired and put into his umbrella. Harry gets threatened with having his wand snapped after being expelled for underage magic. Maybe things were different two to three decades before Hagrid got to school? Or maybe Newt was passed his O.W.L.s so he could keep his wand?
Sorry for the nerdy and late bump.

There are a lot of issues with their world. I mean, don't even get me started on their economy
Or the way that calendars work. The train leaves every September 1st and classes always start the next day. Does that mean that September 2nd always lands on a Monday or weekday in their world?

Finally went to see this today and sat in the theater for 45 minutes with my gf and two other couples.
15 min after it was supposed to start we ask a manger wtf is going on and they say,"oh Imax is broken. It won't be show. You shouldn't have bought tickets on Fandango beforehand without asking"
Needless to say I'm pretty god damn irate.

Yeah, and, if not, did you get your money back?

No, they literally told us tough luck and offered to allow us to see another film last night.
The manger just said that we should have asked what was up sooner when there was only six people in the theater, which I responded with, "How the hell are we supposed to know something is broken?"
No signs on the theater, the ticket checker literally just took our tickets and told us the number. No heads up or anything.
The movie was supposed to begin at 7:25 p.m. and by the time everything had been discussed it was 8 p.m. and the only other showing was a normal 3D one and I can do 3D, but it is definitely not my preferred viewing experience and it began at 7:45 p.m. So it likely had already started.
They reimbursed our Imax tickets, but we spent $30 or so on a large popcorn and two large drinks which we basically just threw away. It was honestly bullshite. That's why I freaking hate going to Northpark in Dallas to see a movie.

Goldstein's sister was so fast in reading minds though, I thought that was a spell where you would have to want to enter someone's mind.
I was also a little surprised about this considering how Legilimency is presented in the books and the "Order of the Phoenix" film (e.g. being pretty difficult and requiring eye contact or close proximity).
I'm going to rationalize it, at the moment, as Queenie being born with a powerful, innate ability to read minds. Sort of how Tonks was born with the ability to metamorphose her appearance at will. So, maybe she was able to pick up her sister's thoughts to save her from "the chair" because she had such a connection with her and, therefore, did not require eye contact with her to sense her peril.

She read everyone with ease so why didn't she know about Grindlewald being in the ministry?
And I'm going to go with she never had enough direct contact with Gravesdelwald to initiate her ability with him or, more likely, he is a good Occlumens.
