Gandalf has a sword and a stick(in which he does little magic). Gandalf, although a wizard, does about 1/10th the magic that Albus Dumbledore does in the series(based purely off of the movies).
The fight between Voldemort and Dumbledore is enough to show that he would win. He creates a giant shield out of water to protect himself. Look at Voldemort as Gandalf(since he returns from death). Gandalf(Voldemort) had no chance of killing Dumbledore, and he knows it.
Gandalf would actually have to use magic to defeat Dumbledore, and from the magic vs magic there is no way Dumbledore doesn't counter it and just blank Gandalf.

Do you think Gandalf would have been killed by Snape? Hell even a GD Balrog couldn't best Gandalf. Do you see Snape or Albus besting a Balrog.

The people posting gandalf hands down must not have read the HP books..Dumbledore is the greatest wizard ever.. Also to the poster sayin that snape killed and bested Dumbledore, you have no clue what you are talking about

Well, I think the only people choosing Dumbledore are pansies who likely wore costumes for Harry Potter book release parties. Dumbledore is for pansies. Gandalf is a true badass

This isn't a fair fight really. Dumbledore is a mortal and Gandalf is like a lesser god. That said, Dumbledore did like 100x the magic Gandalf ever did. So I think Dumbledore wins.
