Yep. I think Chris Evans has already released his shooting schedule for Infinity War:
quote:

“You know, you plan around the Marvel responsibilities. You have to. We start [Captain America: Civil War] in a couple weeks, and then that shoots until August or something like that. August or September. Then I’ve got some downtime and I can do with it as I please. I don’t know if I want to take time off or go pursue another directing job or find a movie to act in or, you know, do whatever I’m creatively inclined to pursue or wait, relax, enjoy my life. And then we start the Infinity War, I think, some time in the third quarter. Fall or winter of 2016. That’s going to be like nine months to shoot both movies back to back.”

Don't know how that changes things.

Wish I was seeing this tonight. Friend and I agreed to buy tickets online. He didn't buy his, so they were sold out when he went to the ticket office.

Not that I've never gone to a movie by myself, but not driving an hour to his local theater to do so.

Didn't Whedon say they would be teasing a female Avenger in the mid credit scene that the fans would be familiar with? Did they cut it? Change direction for the MCU? Decide the character wasn't ready for a tease?

As far as the movie. I really enjoyed it, but it had its niggles. Comedy wasn't one of them. With the incredible level of stress they are under, it is an accurate portrayal to show a highly trained team crack jokes with one another as an outlet. Helps relieve excess tension.

The niggles: really bad CGI in spots, talking worse than some TV shows. Ultron as a character was wasted. He was fun to watch though, enjoyed the character for the most part. Saw some mention Empire Strikes Back. That is accurate imo. Transitional movie with just enough tension to make sitting through it worth the ride. Though the Scarlet Witch did far, far, far, far more than Ultron to move the MCU along. There are others things, I don't feel like typing them all out.

Wish SW would have told them what she knew about the work HYDRA was doing on the scepter. How did they knw what to look for without Starks hologram tech? Would also have liked to know what the AI was within the Scepter. Not sure how to put this. That AI created Ultron, but through a Jarvis and Stark filter? I guess that is the best way to put it? Obviously the AI was created by Thanos, or a minion.

Anyone who thinks the AI was not, at least partially in Ultron, missed that Ultron knew an infinite stone was in the staff. Only way he could have known was if the AI from the staff was still a part of him. Did the AI protocols left in Ultron keep him from breaking out the infinite stone until a weapon was developed to use it properly?

Was it the AI that controls minds, just lets the holder think it gives them control but keeps it for Thano? Or is it a conduit to focus and guide the power of the infinite gem through the scepter? Defining the scepter's powers for the user. Such as mind control and everything else.

So many questions!

Edit: They never said the female character would be introduced in the cut scene. The way the original article was written gave it that impression because it was attached to the statement from Joss regarding the mid-credits teaser.

Same. I knew somebody wasn't going to make it and thought for sure it was gonna be Barton. Glad it was him and not Scarlet Witch though

Take this scene from Iron Man 1 for example:
quote:
Virginia 'Pepper' Potts: Tony, you know that I would help you with anything, but I cannot help you if you're going to start all this again.
Tony Stark: There is nothing except this. There's no art opening, no charity, nothing to sign. There's the next mission, and nothing else.
Virginia 'Pepper' Potts: Is that so? Well, then I quit.
Tony Stark: You stood by my side all these years while I reaped the benefits of destruction. Now that I'm trying to protect the people I've put in harm's way, you're going to walk out?
Virginia 'Pepper' Potts: You're going to kill yourself, Tony. I'm not going to be a part of it.
Tony Stark: I shouldn't be alive... unless it was for a reason. I'm not crazy, Pepper. I just finally know what I have to do. And I know in my heart that it's right.
That guy is gone.

Did you miss the part where Stark created Ultron to save the world? He didn't do it because he was lazy and didn't want to save people anymore, he did it because he doesn't think the Avengers can defend the planet from the alien threat he saw in Avengers 1

Am I the only one who remembers the IM3 thread, where a bunch of peeps discussed when Tony had "fixed" the problem with extremis, used it to fix pepper, take out the shrapnel in his chest but then people took that to mean he gained the powers of the other extremis soldiers?

Yeah that didn't happen.

Back on point. I liked it but I don't understand the comparisons to Empire Strikes Back. That movie ended with our heroes defeated and the fate of characters left up in the air. So hearing those comparisons and especially Jos saying something "terrible is coming that you'll love". What was that supposed to be? Was it supposed to be Ultron? If so, he didn't quite deliver IMO. Bc before seeing the movie and knowing Civil War is next I was hoping for the rift between Cap and Tony to begin, but instead they end on amicable terms, which is fine. I was just expecting and hoping this would be a tad darker movie than it was.

I'll go see it again but right now The Winter Soldier is still my favorite phase 2 film...until Ant-Man

Solid flick, but I thought the movie dragged a bit.

Some thoughts:
1)Iron Man vs Hulk was awesome
2)Too much comedy
3)Lindsey from Freaks and geeks is still hot
4)Did not see Quicksilver dying
5)When are Cap and that falcon dude coming out of the closet?

With Chitari technology which just tried to destroy the world a couple of years ago. That fact alone should have given him pause. Especially considering what the Battle of New York did to his psyche.

Which reminds me.

All the fan boys bitching after the first trailer about how a suit of armor couldnt go to to toe with the Hulk can shut up now. All of that ranting and raving for nothing. In my estimation, they played that almost perfectly.Tony barely somewhat wins that battle because of a mix preparedness and pure luck.

Also, are we to assume the Theta Protocol from AoS was the carrier and team Fury showed up with?

Its a very good movie. In 30 years it wont be nearly as revered as TESB.

No. I loved the movie.

The main theme on this board and with my friends is that Winter Soldier is the best Mcu to date. I completely disagree.

Maybe I'll have to watch WS again but it didn't blow me away or anything.

I loved this movie though.

Fantastic mix of comedy and action. Hulk finally coming into controlling his powers was awesome. Vision was awesome. The lines between CA and IM are clearly taking shape.

Spader owned Ultron. I thought they nailed the whole movie.

The acting was great, Scarlett Johansson is so damn fine it's ridiculous, Hawkeye was hilarious.

It had its hokey moments and the beginning they sacrificed some CGI money for the end,but it was fricking awesome.

That was awesome. Hulk owned him like a bitch.

They have been really developing Hulk's character through the Avengers movie since we never got a Hulk movie with Ruffalo. The scene with him under mind control and fighting IM was fantastic.

seems like they could of explained the Jarvis and Vision connection better. Like is Jarvis now Vision or does Stark just not use Jarvis anymore after Vision is created? He seemed to just disappear.

I thought that was really well done. You had to pay attention to the movie and listen to Ultron and Jarvis talk.

Jarvis was basically prototype AI. Ultron "killed him". Completely corrupted and destroyed the files containing who Jarvis was. When he created Vision, he was uploading his brain into the new body.

Much like Ultron, Vision was created for a certain purpose. As an intelligent being he saw that purpose but understood a bigger picture and chose his own path.

You create what you fear the most. Tony created Ultron and Ultron created vision. Vision is a mix of Jarvis, Ultron, Humanity, and alien tech with an infinity gem in his brain.
