Allan is my favorite by far as he is entertaining and seems to have his act together. Lucas digging for clams with the rising tide was interesting as i have never witnessed those kind of tide ranges. This is by far my favorite survival show on tv. It must be miserable out there in those temps and all that rain.

Yeah, the guy who left because of the wind being too strong was another disappointment.

The guy who left because of the water seemed to be legit hallucinating... dumb mistake to make, but smart to call it quits and get medical help.

They clearly put like 6 sure fire pussies in there. The last 4 are ok but I could last longer than the ones who have left so far. Mitch's shelter is bullshite. Why is he not trying to fortify himself at all?

I do not pretend to be a survivalist or into bushcraft, but this show has me talking to the TV about "Shelter, Water, Fire, Food".

i'm slightly intermediate in terms of wildlife survival, especially if I've got the ability to bring specific survival tools & I am truly baffled that these guys are not constructing more permanent/large shelter structures. how do they NOT have the mentality or wherewithal to know they need to build a single room sized log/branch cabin shelter?

just from the standpoint of being able to move around during the solid DAYS/NIGHTS of rain would be advantage enough. but also to keep your equipment & FIREWOOD dry...

some of their "tactics" seem like short term applications instead of true long haul $500K prize attempts. I mean, if you go out there thinking it's going to up to a year long excursion, then wouldn't you want to get out of an A frame shelter & off of the damned cold muddy ground???

He really impressed me tonight with his minnow traps & the big fish trap he built.

Was I wrong in seeing thay it took him about 6 days to build that thing...? Or was History Channel just manipulating the time stamps they kept showing?

I truly do not understand how not a single one of those guys, or at least the remaining 4, did not bring a fishing pole with artificial lures & strong test with them.
The gill nets are good, but the ability to walk all over those water fronts to fish would certainly yield greater results, right?

The other 3 guys are starting to crack, mentality. The whole "miss my family" cry is annoying. You've got $500k on the line, granted about $250k after taxes. Don't get me wrong-I love my wife & kids, but still, to hell with my family for the shot at 6 figures...

I really think they are encouraged to wine about being all alone and missing their family.

None of those four guys strike me as cry babies. Seems a little forced at times.

Last night was about a week's worth of time from 4 guys crammed into a 40ish minute episode... so yeah I'm sure when it's boring as hell out there and the camera is the only 'thing' to talk to, they talk about missing their families. It's not all they do, just what gets put into the 40ish minutes we see.

I thought I read they got to pick and choose 10 items from a list. It probably didn't make the list.

Alan looks like he's getting stronger while everyone else is on the brink. It looks like the deciding factor will be who can deal with the cold longest.

I hope Alan wins, you can tell he loves to learn.

Dude couldnt wait out a night by wolves for $500,000?

Wake up the next day and build protection, instead start crying because you can't be ok without a gun. His whole shtick is being a "survivor". Exposed his arse. Cop was the same way.

I would be shocked if Alan didn't take this. Presently, he seems so much stronger than the rest.

Only way I see Alan not winning is if he just decides that he's got nothing more to prove and he's ready to go home.. He hinted that he feels that he's proven to himself that he can survive and probably thrive.. That could lead to him eventually just calling it a day

I think you guys are short changing Mitch and Sam. We see little of them because the conserve. Alan is the most likable, being an educated hick, but they are on equal footing. To hear Alan talk about being a failed father shows me he's vulnerable.

Mitch has an advantage being from the north, but he lost his net.

Mitch lost the net and that could be a disaster.. Sam is struggling to get the proper calorie intake.. His shelter is exposed and vulnerable as well. Lucas is resourceful but his emotional state seems shaky. Reality is they all have flaws but Alan seems resourceful accompanied with the right temperament.
