It's mostly the isolation and the fact that they're unarmed.

I didn't want to be 'that guy' and bring up my SERE experience but I'm glad you did. If you've ever been through SERE at Mackall you wouldn't think this was bad from a mental standpoint.

Bears with no weapons is a big problem but a fire helps. Talking out loud to a camera probably makes you a little crazy. But I think you can see the guys (Alan) particularly that have the right idea.

I was a Marine, and I probably wouldn't last that long without a firearm.

I probably wouldn't either. Interesting to me that in the items they were allowed to choose from that a fishing rod and tackle weren't available. Fishing line and hooks were but a rod and reel could keep these guys fed more regularly than a bow and arrow.

Interesting concept. I think they should have been allowed a firearm though if they were going to be put in harm's way regarding predators. Or place them in area where their lives are not so much at stake. I mean, hell, what if one of them got killed for the sake of "entertainment". I'm sure waivers galore were signed. Looking forward to future episodes.

My money at this point is on Alan.... if he can control his emotional state.

This.

But I also wonder if they were told to throw some drama into it as far as missing their families and whatnot. I mean its only been a few days, and I doubt they want someone to win and be perfectly okay with everything from a survival standpoint like Alan seems to be while also having no issues about being away from home. Takes away from the show a bit if some badass just goes out there and smokes everyone and its obvious hes gonna make it IMO.

I started watching a couple of weeks ago. This is my favorite show on TV right now. I think I could handle to fear of predators okay if I had a partner, but when alone all you do is watch, listen, and let your mind tell you scary shite.

I'd be scared shitless without a firearm. If you want some good comedy about this show, follow it on Twitter while it's airing. The women bashing these guys is hilarious.

I'd love to sign up for this. Not saying I'd win, but I wouldn't have cashed out first night.

Glad i won't have to hear Brant cry about his life any more. Still holding out hope for Alan but it's looking more and more like Mitch could run away with it, provided he doesn't get attacked I don't think he will scare out. He probably should have buried the fish and waited til morning to cook and eat.

Mitch is killin' it. I love Alan eating the bull kelp though. LOL. I'll just imagine it being a #21 dinner on the Mexican menu.

Lucas seems to have the right idea that you need to constantly be working your mind to last.. Mitch and Alan are still the favorites.. They havent shown much of Sam so its hard to tell how hes truly holding up.. Dustin seems to be cracking

Definitely between Alan, Mitch, and Lucas. The other 2 have no shot. Brant had the absolute worst location.

The main problem was him not moving akin to Mitch.. He took the initiative to find what could be one of the best locations as long as the Cougars don't get him. Haha

Awesome show. Started watching because I like survival shows but I think the emotional aspects are what make it so good. Pulling for Lucas, I wish that cabin idea would have panned out. It'll be interesting if they get settled enough to build more permanent structures.

I like the fact that they didn't get too good of survivalist experts. The show would probably just drag on without much emotion.

we're down to 4. They really skipped a lot this episode. They went from day 5 or 6 to day 14. If Alan can keep his cool, I think he'll win.
