Jeez. Tough crowd.

This is the best show I've watched in a long time. The fact that they blew through 6-7 days last night leads me to believe that these guys are in for a haul.

I can't pretend to predict who will win and I don't really care. These guys are doing something that none of the internet tough guys posting could do.

This may be the best reality show ever produced.. ITs real, there is no producer pushing them to say and do things.. Of course they can edit things to appear a certain way if they desire.

I guess I never really thought about it but the emotional deterioration this quickly is surprising. I assume they are showing that more than anything to give the show life but its obvious that they all struggle with the solitude. I still feel that Alan is the one to beat.. He seems to be holding it together nicely. Lucas is such a complete roller coaster of emotions that I worry for him and that A few more inevitable setbacks will cause him to crack.

Agree.

If that boat wouldn't have worked I think Lucas would have been out. He has a lot to prove to himself and, in his mind, to other people. But keeping himself on task was huge.

There are countless studies showing how devastating isolation can be. Guys that some out of solitary confinement for 30 days are really traumatized.

The way they blazed through 7 days tells me there weren't that many breakdowns. We know that would sell.

It's the isolation. The fact that you've gone 2 weeks and not see or talk to another human being has to be tough. I'm truly enjoying this show.

Definitely enjoying it... glad Mitch didn't bail after the cougar encounter, everyone else who has come that close to a bear/cougar/wolf has called to get out that night or the next morning.

The young kid has done surprisingly well, but he seemed to have a pretty nice location also.

Pretty excited for a new episode. I have absolutely no idea how long these guys will last. Days? Months?

Fantastic premise.

I think the four that are left and in it for a while. I think there were around two weeks when it left off... I wouldn't be surprised to get to a month before someone else leaves.

Unless something crazy happens, like an attack, or canoe guy sinking it.

They lost 6 guys in the first 7 days or so. Then blew through the next 7 days pretty much just showing Lucas making his boat. That tells me the other guys were coasting pretty easy. Lucas seems pretty fragile, but making a working canoe was huge for him.

And don't get me wrong, when I say Lucas seems fragile I only mean in relation to the others. I'm not some internet tough guy pretending I would last more than two nights out there.

Those hours in the tent when he was entertaining himself proves he is mentally strong. I believe he's the one to beat. The only thing that will stop him is if he gets seriously ill.

Another great episode.. The last 4 seem to be the real deal. Alan is one of the best real characters ever put on a reality show. Guy has personality for days and its serving him well. Still surprised that no one has embarked on a long term shelter project. Alan separating his camps is a smart move and he has the right idea and mindset of conserving his energy with his personality. Lucas needs to keep his mind moving and thinking to stave off the craziness. I worry that they are getting to comfortable with the food stocks currently available but I imagine being in the moment you just go with it.

I am really looking forward to next season. The majority of this group were understandably ill-prepared.

I can't really fault the guy who had a bear literally feet from his tent in episode 1, or the guy who had a bear charge at him and then was rummaging around his tent.

One guy quitting because wolves were howling nearby was lame, I thought. You had to know you were getting into that much.

The dude who lost his lighter I thought gave up a little too easy. He didn't even try to just maintain his fire, which might have ultimately failed, but he just gave up. That was a little disappointing.

If that's the case, then I'm willing to bet the winner is there around 50-60 days.

You had the guy in the 5th episode give up because the trees were swaying in the wind
The 4th episode had the guy leave because he drank stagnant water. A ton of it.
