Deniro's career is basically over too. He had some hits with the Focker movies but other than that hasn't done much in the past 10 years. He's been doing a lot of straight to dvd movies lately.

Current relevance has more to do with A List than anything, that's why I kind of agree that Travolta may not be on there anymore.
But Affleck? WTF? He's as A-List as they come.

It's weird because De Niro run in the 90's and early 2000's was awesome, then nothing. But he is still without a doubt an "A" list type actor. Just because an actor is old doesn't take away from thier work in the past. If you are going to say that only current actors can make the list, then I could understand.

Kirk Douglas is still A list then at 99 years of age.

and it wasn't that good, which tells you what level of actor he is.

Works regularly with David O. Russell, gets $3-5 million just to show up on comedies and has enough goodwill and cred built up to finish his acting career on his terms.

Travolta is. so is Affleck
RDJ is much more of an A-lister than Travolta is at this point.

Ben Affleck
Just because you are a star doesn't mean you are an A lister IMO
Affleck is such an overrated talentless hack, his best acting centers around his slack jawed "duh" look when the Matt Damon character says something he doesn't understand.
He isn't really even a good B list actor.

Even if you don't consider him A list, he certainly is a major player. Directed a best pic, is Batman and stars in a Fincher film. The guy can get any project he wants off the ground.

I thought the Hollywood term for an A lister was someone who could open a movie -- if this person is starring in a movie, lots of people will go see it.
By that standard, A listers are just people like
Tom Hanks
Leo DiCaprio
Denzel Washington
Brad Pitt
Angelina Jolie
Sandra Bullock
maybe Jennifer Lawrence
Matt Damon
Ben Affleck
maybe Christian Bale
probably still Julia Roberts
probably still Clint Eastwood
maybe Bradley Cooper
maybe Mark Whalberg
maybe Robert Downey Jr.
Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise, Will Smith and Cameron Diaz all recently slid off the A list.

GTFO its a great movie.

Where is Bradley Cooper? He isn't even listed and has three straight oscar nominations.

Bruce Willis isn't an A lister. Travolta probably has more range than Willis.
Clooney and Eastwood aren't A list actors, but they are A listers because of the penumbra of acting, directing and producing.

the best way to determine rank is by their salary.
