The World Series and MLB in general was much more intriguing before Bud Selig ruined it. No interleague play until WS. You had the debate of NL umps vs AL umps. Teams weren't shuffled around between the leagues like Astros/Brewers. teams in WS never faced each other until it was for all the marbles.

Ehh I know this is the unpopular sports opinion thread but I think interleague is good. You have the rivalries that wouldn't happen otherwise: Mets/Yankees, Cubs/Sox, Rays/Marlins
But then you also have premier franchises playing that otherwise wouldn't: Yankees/Dodgers, Red Sox/Cardinals, Giants/Yankees

In MLB, the AL should get rid of the DH.
In the NBA, FTs should be 1 and 1 at the 5th foul and then a double bonus at the 7th foul. There should be 4 pointer beyond half-court. Goal-tending rules should be changed to mirror international rules.
In college basketball, they should change to four 10-minutes quarters.
Also agree that Bill Russell was overrated. His teams had so much more talent than the other teams in the league. He's definitely a Hall of Famer but does not belong on any 1st or 2nd 'All-Time' NBA teams.
If Pete Maravich had a 3 pt line when he played, he wouldn't have been as fun to watch or developed the skills to improvise and score in such a variety of ways.

Golf is more fun to watch without Tiger. Yeah I get that when he was a his peak, he did amazing things. And that in itself is fun to watch. But he also took away a lot of the drama that comes with more parity. Close tournaments are more fun than runaways.

this is the same as saying the earth is flat.
Baseball is boring is an opinion, baseball sucks is an opinion, baseball players are great athletes is an opinion, baseball isn't a sport is false.

The firing of Coach Jones was unnecessary.

Unpopular and stupid.....well done! Possibly one of the dumbest things I've heard on TD. Sorry you were terrible at baseball. It's the best sport in America and I'd like for you to show me a great baseball player with no athletic ability.

lavar ball, despite not knowing anything about him, must be pretty awesome because millennial dipshit sports fans hate him, all these current and former nba players who I know to be obnoxious hate him.
i'm going to guess he's not violent while reminding everyone about how awesome they think Charles Oakley is for trying to kick the shite out of someone because the team isn't good.

Derek Jeter was overrated.
Derek Jeter is merely a very good player who benefited greatly from being drafted by the right team, at the right time, playing in the right city. Had he been drafted by any other team his legacy would be vastly different. For starters, he would not be as recognizable, nor as well-paid—both on and off the field—as he is. And he likely would not have spent the majority of his career surrounded and protected in a lineup filled with the game’s best and highest paid player. Derek Jeter’s greatness is more a matter of happenstance.
To be fair, Jeter is a great player. He plays the game's second most difficult position and plays it well. However, Jeter has never had to be "the guy"; he’s always been surrounded by players and pitchers better than him who have carried the majority of the load. He’s never been the best player at his position, on his team or in the game.
Derek Jeter is, simply put, slightly better than Ryne Sandberg, which is not a bad thing. A very good, even great, player who winds up in Cooperstown one day. But he’s not an all-time great, not one of the game’s legends, and for that he’s overrated.
PS: He was WAY out of position on "The Flip."

No doubt. Golf is really exciting right now with guys like Rory, Day, Spieth, DJ. But I think it was better before Tiger too. You had a whole bunch of guys who could win on any given weekend.
Here's another thing. When Tiger was in a tournament, it didn't matter if he was leading or 15 over, he would get on camera anyway because everybody wants to see Tiger. To me it's a waste of air time to show a guy struggling to make the cut no matter how famous he is.

guys who use their weight to break a QB's shoulder/shoulderblade when they already have the QB "tackled" should be kicked out of the sport forever at all levels down to D III, Canada even.

Generally speaking, top level college softball is more exciting than college baseball.
And pro fishing is not a sport.

The Rockets shot 16% from 3 and the Warriors shot 26% tonight. This is exactly what I was talking about in the OP.
