There should be no salary cap and no revenue sharing in the major pro sports leagues.

I like OT. Ties would only complicate matters deciding a champion. I do like NFL OT better than college.

Hold on, play clock malfunctioned before I finished reading. We will continue to keep the time manually down on the field.

Holding could be called on every play... but it's more prudent to call it when it impacts the point spread.

citation was more consistent. Ain't no one beating the bid in a 10F race as a 4 year old.

they ran as simulation with all the all time greats at 10f and it was bid first slew second secretariat third

Isn't hand-eye coordination considered an athletic ability?

A lot of people equate physical shape with athleticism. Having quick feet also is used as a measure in other sports.

The best example is football when you hear statements like "That tackle sure is athletic for a big man."

In other sports athleticism is more about how well you carry yourself. On the other hand, in baseball a player can be a slow runner and relatively out of shape, yet are able to be the best hitter on the team.

So to compare the two, an "athletic" football player has physical skills that translate to other sports. A great baseball hitter that is slow and overweight may not have the physical skills to be competitive at much else than baseball.

The impact of steroids/peds on baseball records is over rated.

Ranking QBs by rings is ridiculous and lazy

Saying anything short of winning the championship is failure is stupid and belittles the title frankly

Ties are better than the College Football OT rule

Sudden death OT is fine and not decided by a coin flip

bunting is stupid

football teams should go for it on 4th down a majority of the time.

I'm with you on the cap its unnecessary, but revenue sharing is a business decision that makes sense. teams can't play themselves and pro sports leagues are like a joint venture sometimes the sum is greater than the parts.

Larry Bird is the best all around shooter ever, if you take into account every type of shot

The NFL is dead and will not exist in current form in 20 years.

Regular season results are more meaningful than playoff results. Playoffs aren't quite the crapshoot statheads insists, but it is easier for lesser teams to win in the playoffs (or teams constructed for the playoffs). We should value pennants and regular season titles more

I couldn't agree with this more. Winning a conference in college especially, though that was better imo before the conference champ game.

Flashes in the pan are remembered, but aren't as valuable to a team. I'd rather have Bert Blyleven's whole career than Koufax's.

This I couldn't disagree with more. first off for me, when talking about compilers, its more about the HOF. It was entirely up to me, most HOF would be much smaller. Guys like Blyleven were good, very good maybe, but not great, not elite so i personally wouldn't have him in the HOF. Give me 6 years of Koufax and i it gives me a better chance to win than 15-20 years of Blyleven

It is a fact that Brady is a great QB, but he benefits greatly from being on the Patriots. This is not stupid. The Patriots consistently put a better team around him than any other top qb in the league at least of the last 15 years, maybe ever.

That's not a system QB though. bullshite on the ever part. Take a look at how loaded both Bradshaw and Montana's teams were.

A system QB is a guy like Alex Smith who has to have a system tailor made for him to succeed. I've debunked the Brady = System so fricking often its just annoying at this point.

Yep - good analogy.

In the long term, even the high end franchises benefit from revenue-sharing. I don't think it's any accident that seven of the top ten most valuable sports franchises in the world are in American sports leagues that have revenue-sharing agreements.

How would you like to measure fundamentals? Let's start with free throw percentage...

Welp, 2016-2017 has the highest free throw percentage of any season on record in the NBA.

It must be turnovers then. Nah, can't be turnovers because 2016-2017 is the second lowest turnover per game average of all time.

Obviously it's sloppy play and fouls then, right? Well I'll be damned, 2016-2017 is the 3rd lowest amount of personal fouls per game of all time too.

The average NBA player is better at the "fundamentals" now than they've ever been.

If the smaller markets can't survive on their own well then too damn bad. Life isn't fair.

College Football offenses are making the games more boring and a little more predictable every year... including that of the team that I pull for.

Its not about life being fair you maroon.

The league is a joint venture, they need other teams to you know play games against. No one is paying to watch a Yankees intersquad game Besides, usually its not 100% of the revenue that is shared but national TV deals.
