it'd only take 15% of the population of the Houston metro area to surpass Baton Rouge.

And you think 15% of the Houston area would claim to be an LSU fan?

I have no idea, but I know 100% of the population of Baton Rouge wouldn't.

should have said LSU alumnni, and it isn't dumb at all. Houston has more people than the entire state of Louisiana. Houston is the largest alumni base. BR may be third

No. I've seen the numbers. There are still more LSU alums just in EBR than Houston.

Jerry world and reliant are both newer and nicer stadiums. I'm not saying that is the reason, and I can't attest to ga dome because I just don't know.

The two I mentioned also draw good audiences from most schools who play there. I've noticed the superdome having lackluster showings. Specifically for bowl games, but there isn't really anything else to compare.

If ULL can fill that stadium, we should be able to fill it 3 times over.

Your point about sheer number of citizens is important though. People will go to a big time college football game even of it isn't their team. Especially being the first game of the year. With as many people as there are in Houston I doubt they have a ton of trouble filling seats.

Also, to those listing Superdome as a+, here are some lists:

Pro football post :15

Road trip: 18

Keep looking around. It isn't rated very high among NFL venues. Don't be a homer

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for the most part these kick off games are being organized by the bowl committees, ie Cotton Bowl Committee in Dallas, and Chic-fil-A Bowl committee in Atlanta.

It could be as simple as the Sugar Bowl committee hasn't put together a plan for one yet.

Houston and Dallas are both good destinations. I was responding to the venue.

I live here, I love New Orleans. I chose it over Houston, I'm not bashing the city.
