He's gotta be up there.

I can only think of 2 guys who could guard all 5 positions and do so in a dominant fashion.

LeBron

I don't think anyone in history, has been as effective shutting down a range of positions. He can pretty much guard any 2 - 4, and even some 1's and 5's

Rodman.

I just mentioned it above.

They're the only 2 that have ever been able to guard all 5 positions successfully that i can think of.

Surprised Bill Russell hasn't been mentioned.

I mentioned Bill Russell and he's the only answer to this question.

Low post or Perimeter?

It's different.
This

I think most people would say Jordan was probably the best perimeter defender ever

Tayshaun Prince would guard Iverson one night, Vince Carter the next, and Chris Bosh the night after that

Not as effective as Rodman or Lebron could do it.

Lol at Payton or Pippen ever having the defensive presence Olajuwon had. He's the GOAT defender.

Inside he's up there, but not perimeter. Just wasn't his game

Jordan and Gary Payton were both better defenders than at least half of your list

You are massively overrating LeBron's defensive prowess. Mentioning him alongside Rodman is insulting

Kind of have to separate wing and post defenders.

Jordan was the best on ball perimeter defender ive ever seen. Especially when it mattered.

Other than Rodman, who has ever been able to guard all 5 positions and did so as often and effectively as Lebron?
