The last 2 years were such great successes because of the improvement on defense.

Also heavily improving on draft picks and FA hits, getting rid of dead cap space

Forget Burrow driving the nail into Texas and Bama's coffins; this Herbert kid has the clutch gene, look at this performance in Oregon's statement game when the Ducks were ready to finally get over the hump! (19:05)

Purple and gold glasses aside it’s not like Burrow is running a gimmick offense here. There are a lot of similarities with the style of play you see from the Saints, so that’s got to give GMs the feels. And he’s doing it against defenses loaded with Sunday talent.

You think because you’ve seen Burrow get 3 all SEC WR and get into shootouts it’s over?

Did you ever think Burrow might have something to do with what those guys are doing?

Wait a minute here. I started a thread in September or October that Young is a top two pick and was laughed off of the MSB.

I mean blanket statements like that are pretty dumb when you don't know the draft order.

Brady & Brees' success should have taught the world by now that ball placement & accuracy are far more important than cannon arms, electric feet & physical measurables.

Burrow is on pace to be the most accurate QB in the history of CFB.

Burrow needs to sign over half of his first paycheck to Joe Brady. Change the offensive system and the guy goes from looking like mediocrity to a superstar. If only there was a name for such players....

The problem with building around a team with no QB is that you still will need a QB one day, and getting one is basically impossible outside the draft. If you really like Burrow as a franchise guy, you take him. You may never get another shot at a franchise guy.

The Bengals get a shot at Franchise Qbs plenty often. You don’t have to have a #1 pick, you need a top 15 pick if even that and you can always trade up.

Everyone is talking about what it takes to play in a Super Bowl. Let’s pump the fricking breaks on that here guys...Bengals need to just concentrate on becoming a 9-7 team. Let’s just get a winning record first.

He may be that good that teams will trade up to get him.

He's a game changer in a pass happy league.

They get a chance to draft an Ohio product who may be winning the Heisman. I have to think that is a good move for them.

Chase Young isn’t far off from that...

First off it’s the Bengals here, we all know talking with common sense doesn’t make any sense. But as said if you are bad enough to get the first pick you likely should trade down and pick up some extra picks. They need a lot of help.

I just don’t think it’s wise to talk about what pieces you need to win a Super Bowl while trying to build a team that hasn’t won a single game. Pick the pieces that help you win games now. Build a team to win a super bowl when you are a good team but not yet great team.

Burrow isn’t going to do anything for them that Dalton hasn’t already done. Trade Green, and just assemble talent on the roster. Look to 2021 - but I don’t buy Hanson Bro #4 as the one. Maybe Morgan, Purdy, or White will be the guy, maybe Fields will do something other than throw to wide open guys.

Tua is the best QB in this draft, but the injuries are worrisome. Someone should take a flier on Gordon and Fine late.

The old days of just picking the golden boy quarterback of a top 5 team and assuming he’s a stud are over. Get you a guy at a mid level P5 school or G5 who elevates his team like Lamar did, like Minshew did. Going further back, Rivers and Roethlisberger elevates their programs. Get someone who doesn’t have everything going their way. Guys like Leinhart, Sanchez, Haskins and now Burrow have every advantage - they have more surrounding talent than their peers in their conference (we’ll save for Alabama in Burrow’s case). Having all day to throw to wide open guys who don’t even to outskill a defensive back or handing off to a back who gets 6 yards every touch doesn’t move the needle for me.

There’s a reason why the Southern Cal and Texas guys flame out but Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes are studs.

I would love to see Burreaux win the Heisman and get drafted No. 1.

I would NOT like that team to be Cincinnati, however.

As someone else said, there's just too much wrong with Cincinnati. The Bengals should trade the No. 1 pick away to get more of the help they need.

Hope Burreaux ends up somewhere he can win right away.

Trade down. Take Young. Build the O and D lines in the draft.

The Bengals organization hasn't shown they can develop a franchise guy. No point in buying a Ferrari if you can't even drive.

Go for the absolute sure thing in Young. Sign a plug and play QB in FA.
