Not even sure ND is a top 10 job today

I mean, the university essentially suspended three starters for the year because someones gf help write a summer class paper. Not to mention the shitty weather and no home recruiting turf.

Probably, only job that is definitively better is Texas.

UF, USC, Bama, and Ohio State are about the same and youre spitting hairs to debate any advantages

You really think that Michigan is a worse job than Florida?

The history, resources, the admin, stadium, is every bit better than Florida.

Michigan plays weekly on national TV in a P5 conference. I guess people are being myopic and think only the SEC has great jobs.

Then for someone to say Oregon with its money and state of the art everything is not better than UF? I will give UF the history because until 1990 UO had none, except being bad very bad.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Some coaches may covet certain jobs over others. Some coaches want a path of least resistance and will seek a SEC job with minimum academic restrictions and fertile recruiting ground. Some coaches will want the prestige that comes with certain name programs like USC or Notre Dame. Others will covet the chance to coach their alma mater over any other school.

It's fruitless to debate which ones are in the top 3 or top 5 or top 10, because if you asked 20 coaches, you would get a wide range of responses.

You also think Arizona is as good a job as Florida, so there's that.

Yes. And I think virtually everyone in college football would agree.

No I never said Arizona was a better job. I said that Rich would not leave for Florida because he has everything he wants at Arizona and can get at Florida. Apparently you do not understand.

That is what I said and we were talking about Rich Rod.

I'm not saying Mullen is going to Florida, but if he was smart he would DEFINITELY strongly consider leaving MSU after this season. This is a fluke year for them and almost 90% of their starters are redshirt Juniors or Seniors. There will be a mass exodus of players from them after this year and they will fall back to mediocrity real quick.

He needs to get out while people think he is hot shite.

if they offer him the job he should obviously take it. there's a risk of failing for sure but golden parachutes provide for pretty soft landings.

A Gary Patterson or Chip Kelly there would be a bit scarier for the SEC. Kiffin would be funny but I doubt they go that way.

Disagree with your reasoning but not your conclusion. Recruiting and facilities are obviously better at Florida IMO. The PAC is easier to win than the SEC but the SEC East is so down that the only major issue is whether or not you can consistently beat UGA.

Rich Rod at a program with top tier talent would be an intriguing possibility - but I don't think he'll leave Arizona because he's gone through three jobs in recent history and I don't think of him as a Petrino type who will job hop that frequently.

what?

Notre Dame?!? Southern Cal I agree with - Alabama is debatably a top five job although I think (today) tOSU is an obvious pick for the fourth best job in cfb because of their winnable conference, money, recruiting, and prestige.

Florida and Texas are better jobs than other outstanding programs with money, recruiting, and facilities like Alabama, LSU, UGA, and tOSU. Michigan, Notre Dame, and Nebraska type programs have amazing histories but their weather and recruiting are comparatively terrible and the effects of this have shown on the field lately IMO.

When you ever see the infrastructure support and facilities Arizona has from the school and Nike you'll understand.

Then all that's left for them is to move their program to California, Texas, or Florida.

Oregon has obviously both peerless facilities and money but still doesn't recruit like other schools with geography on their side.

You do realize Arizona made 2 stupid hires right in a row?

Mac and Mikey

What Rich has done there is very damn impressive.

Michigan doesn't even have an AD, has a 'Michigan man' complex, and ran Rich Rod out of UM.

You mention history, admin, and stadium...but not recruiting?

Ran Rich out? Rich ran himself out. I'm sorry but he didn't belong there or fit in. They do have an AD it is an interim. But I wasn't just talking AD.

Not all places are good fits. Mike Price is a great example. Bill Callahan and Ty Willingham are two other great examples. Just because it works at one place doesn't mean it will work at another. Michigan is a whole different animal than most.
