it's not really hard to understand that they will be behind the lakers, celtics, bulls and spurs until they win several titles in a given time frame ... one year does not a dynasty make ...

1. Celtics or Lakers
3. Bulls
4. Warriors (more conference titles than the Spurs)
5. Spurs

Knicks are the most overrated franchise in sports.

One additional conference title for the warriors trumps one additional NBA title for the Spurs? I have a hard time seeing that.

Maybe you should read the title of the thread.

Right now, the Warriors are what the Suns of the mid-2000s or Kings of the early 2000s would have been had they closed the deal and won a title: A franchise that was irrelevant for decades who came out of nowhere to dominate with great offense for several years.

Now if they keep it up and win 3 or 4 titles with this group? Sure they're an elite franchise, but you have to do A LOT to make up for 4 decades of irrelevance.

Do y'all not realize that teams also get hardware for winning their conference?

You know the warriors have won 4 titles, right?

On second thought, I guess they were irrelevant for 'decades'. But I don't think you can put them in the suns category. Suns never won a title.

I don't know about comparable franchises in other sports, but I do know the Knicks have just 5 division titles in their history and were legit championship contenders in the late '60s/early '70s and mid-'90s ('99 was a nice story but they didn't stand a chance) and that's it.

They've been a joke since 2000.

Top 10 for sure. Definitely behind LA, Boston, Chicago, & SA. I'd have to see the stats to adequately rank a top 10.

A better question is where do they rank all time for an individual season?

Depends on the playoff run, but a good one puts them in the upper echelon imo

Ever hear of the 76ers?

.............

Or even Pistons or Knicks?

(The Warriors are Top 10 if they win it all again but where in that 10? Definitely not top 5.)

They would have five titles, but two of them come in the very early stages of the league. I could see someone having a different opinion but I think Detriot and Miami have been better franchises

i still dont see how the knicks or pistons are just unquestionably higher on the all time list than the warriors. their resumes are pretty comparable
