this is how their franchise would stack up

7th most wins
10th most playoff appearances
tied for 4th in conference titles won
tied for 4th in most titles won
73 wins in a single season

if they win the title this year, do they have an argument do be considered one of the top 5 franchises in NBA history? or does their low winning percentage take them out of consideration?

Lakers
Boston
Bulls
Miami
Spurs

So to answer your question, no they wouldn't be a top 5 franchise

the thing is once you get past the lakers and the celtics, it gets really murky trying to sort it out. i dont know if i have them as a top 5 franchise but i can see someone putting them up there

Goalposts have changed since they won 73. It's all about destroying teams in the playoffs now, only then will people say they're the best

The Warriors were essentially irrelevant for nearly 40 years. (i.e. essentially the Kings)

5-10 at best.

All time they are starting beneath Boston, The Lakers and San Antonio for sure.

Will need to see all the franchises records to really get a good idea of where they fit. I'm saying easily top 10-15

you laugh but as a franchise id go with Miami over golden state. Golden state won their first championship in 45 years last year. Come on bro

I just posted 5 franchises better than the Warriors. At any rate it's debatable on who you would replace Miami with. Maybe Detroit, philly, or the Knicks

Chalk this up as an ADD/prisoner-of-the-moment thread. Last year was the first in almost 40 that the Warriors legitimately contended for a title.

Not currently what I'm seeing. The franchise has been in the league since 1946 and they are 2590-2884 .473

I could see Miami ahead of GS given Miami's success in a relatively short period of time in the league.
