We know he is a phenom, but what will he have to accomplish in his career to be the greatest?

At least 5-6 titles in a short amount of time, maybe adding a 6th or 7th late in his career, multiple all star, league MVP a few times, a few scoring titles, and then he will just be in the conversation and not necessarily the GOAT.

Do what he is doing now for the next ten years while adding in the occasional title.

a few more championships and actually become a good defender.

No offensive minded player will ever be considered tGOAT. He needs a few 1st team all defensive team nominations under his belt.

Keep us this level of play for 6-8 more seasons. Seriously, Jordan had ten seasons with a PER of at least 27 and eight seasons with a WS/48 above .270. Curry's had two seasons with a PER of at least 27 and WS/48 above .270. If he can stay healthy and play this well into his mid 30s, he would have a legitimate case to be in the GOAT conversation.

Maintain this same level of play for 8 more years and get to at least 4 NBA titles with 3 more MVPs.

actually according to a lot on this board, he only has to win 2 of 6 to be a GOAT.

He'll never be able to do enough in some fans' eyes.

He's already the unmitigated GOAT in the eyes of other fans.

And so it will go....

10 years of current level play
- Jordan's 13 years in Chicago he averaged 31.5/6.3/5.4 with an 120 ORTG, 103 DRTG, and 29.1 PER

6 championships that includes him being MVP
-Jordan was the MVP in all 6 championships

Multiple league MVPs
-Jordan won 5, sort of snubbed of 1

Multiple All-NBA first teams
-Jordan had 10 1st, 1 2nd

Better defender
-Jordan was All-defensive 1st 9 times, DPOY once

There's a lot of reasons why Jordan goes down as GOAT, it wasn't just the 6 rings. His scoring ability from day 1 with increasing repertoire throughout his career, improving defensive prowness throughout his career, and the fact that his dominance on his team was never questioned especially in the playoffs and finals.

Curry isn't a great defender, he is a great offensive threat that improves everyone around him, but he was mortal in the finals.

Jordan's first Finals appearance:
55.8/50.0/84.8 - 44.0 MPG
31.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 11.4 assists, 3.6 turnovers, 2.8 steals, 1.4 blocks

Jordan's regular season:
53.9/31.2/85.1 - 37.0 MPG
31.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 2.5 turnovers, 2.7 steals, 1.0 blocks

Curry's first Finals appearance:
44.3/38.5/88.5 - 42.5 MPG
26.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 4.7 turnovers, 1.8 steals, 0.2 blocks

Curry's regular season:
48.7/44.3/91.4 - 32.7 MPG
23.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 7.7 assists, 3.1 turnovers, 2.0 steals, 0.2 blocks

Travel back in time and prevent Michael Jordan from ever being born.

Or ... plan B:

1) Get his Dad on TV a lot. Get his brother to play better.

2) Play at least 10 more years, collecting stats and records.

3) Use the off-season to get a degree from University of Tennessee.

* 1 Championship ring -- check, already covered.

Boom. GOAT.

This.

Curry was a borderline all star with fragile ankles & only received a 4 year $ 44 million dollar contract extension for a reason.

Now the ' greatest ', 'most fantastical' ever stuff has began after a couple seasons .

Why can't people just enjoy watching him now? In his era.

Win at least 6.

Then have better stats than Jordan. Which isn't happening.

Be better than Jordan. Take Jordan's numbers and beat them. Also, he may never be the GOAT because his endorsements etc will never get him to the Jordan range. Hell, he isn't as marketable as Lebron so it could be tough
