I'd try to clear up some space for Batum, he would definitely put them over the cavs imo

I almost forgot about ole Dirk. I went watched his highlights and realized how cold his one leg fade away is. Dude could launch it up from 30 feet and drain it.

Heard Sam amick say today that KDs people reached out to GSW that was the first I'd heard that KD initially showed interest.

That would be a great fit IMO. I don't know if Dirk would be willing to leave Dallas though

it'd be great for Dirk's chances at winning another ring but frick me that would crush me as a Mavs fan.

only the Spurs, Heat, and Rox would be a bigger kick in the junk.

Same. I'd be ecstatic to see Dirk get ring #2, but I'd cry watching him do it for another team.

Hilarious. He isn't leaving. He will retire a career Mav.

He's already taken less money once to bring in a better roster & he's in the process of doing it again right now.

I honestly think Cuban will make him an owner or someone very high up & public with the team after he retires.

As a Mavs fan, I kinda hope this happens. He isn't winning another ring here, he seemingly found the fountain of youth last season and his legacy deserves to be more than 1 title.

A lineup of Curry, Thompson, Green and Dirk would be nasty.

Dirk has stated several times that when the Mavs won in 2011 that sealed his fate. He will retire only playing for one team. He might have been tempted to leave to chase a ring, but winning one erased any desire to ever play for another team. He's also stated he doesn't want to hang on too long to where he is a bench player brought in to rain 3's. He's not leaving Dallas. He'll retire this offseason before he'll play for another team.

I have pretty mixed feelings. I respect the idea of only playing for one team but he's still got enough to contribute meaningfully to another championship team. I guess it just depends on whether you end up being Ray Allen on the Heat or Karl Malone on the Lakers.

Subbing Dirk in for someone like Barnes would be a pretty interesting upgrade - the only question might be whether he's lost enough mobility to be a liability on defense.
