so then why have the thunder gone to the exact lineup of westbrook, waiters, roberson, ibaka, and Durant multiple times against the thunder and have had it literally never work until tonight

dude. if you can't see the durant being able to block draymond at the rim multiple times and ditto with ibaka while still being able to get out in transition the other way i have no answers for you.

and all that other stuff is bullshite. i am not everyone. i said thunder in 6 before series. sticking to it now. i wouldn't have said thunder all season in 6 til the thunder stepped it up against the spurs. this is a self-actualized thunder team that has ALWAYS had the potential to be the best team in the NBA. a team that lost a season last year with durant out. why is it surprising that this team is gonna push this golden state til it's limits? how is it impossible that they could win?

this was always possible for the warriors. warriors are a matchup nightmare for every team in the league EXCEPT THIS THUNDER TEAM AS IT IS CURRENTLY CONSTRUCTED. this team isn't the thunder of the regular season. this is them at their peak.

watch the rest of the series. we'll see who is right.

and if you can't grasp that this isn't the first time the thunder have turned to this lineup against the warriors and it failed every time then I have no answers for you

I would be praying for a draymond suspension if I was OKC

then how come these matchup nightmares didn't show themselves until tonight? It's not like OKC was doing something they haven't tried before

so it randomly broke through after 3 tries? I have a hard time buying into that. The cavs are a bigger mismatch in all honesty. Much more dynamic offense who could go small pretty effectively if they wanted to with LeBron on the floor

randomly broke or a combination of people are playing harder/executing better with the combination of film study, increased awareness about golden state's ball rotations and steph curry not being completely 100%.

you say potayto i say potahto.
check and see how it turns out.

OKC wins a squeaker next game at home. Warriors blow out at Oracle. Thunder finishes it in OKC.

All I know is, the '96 Bulls are still the greatest team ever.

The match ups were there in the regular season too. Having watched almost every thunder game this year, there are two main differences for OKC in the playoffs vs regular season.

1. Shortened the bench big time. No more Kyle singler, cam payne, Anthony morrow, etc. Those players shite the bed in the regular season often.

2. Effort was not there most of the regular season. Especially for Russ and Serge, they actually are playing a bit of defense now.

Probably watched over 100 OKC games over past few years, last night was their perfect game. And holy shite was it a thing of beauty.

No stupid turnovers, no bad Westbrook, assisting on every bucket (biggest wtf), minimal ISO offense.

Will be interesting to see if they maintain that style of play. They always seem to revert back to old habits when it gets tough.

The list of teams that are a bad matchup for the Warriors actually begins and ends with this Thunder team

The Cavs are also a bad match up for the Warriors. That was proven last year when LBJ almost took 3 games without any help what so ever. Really any team with a good offensive PG has potential to give the Warriors trouble because Kerr doesn't trust Curry on D so Klay has to step out and guard that PG.

The difference has been OKC's defense they've REALLY turned it up a notch (or two) this postseason. Was expecting a split, and I still think that will be the case. And Game 5 winner takes the series

The rebounding margin battle is a HUGE factor imo...gm 2 I believe Warriors outrebounded OKC but gm 1&3 OKC had it. 2nd chance pts and also controlling the tempo of the game is a lot easier to do if your big men are imposing their will down low in the paint
GS isn't going to win the rebounding battle and their best chance to improve in this series is to stop trying to.

THey got crushed on the fastbreak last night. They really need to not even bother with offensive boards and focus on transition defense.

Warriors win a blowout = Hold Serve

OKC wins a blowout = Worst Case Scenario

There's certainly more doubt now then at the start of the series, but I'm still not terribly worried, although game 5 is obviously a biggie.

OKC is still the betting underdog to win the series, fwiw.

A team outdoing you at what you do best in a way that didn't seem possible before isn't the slightest bit troubling?

Game 2 was close til Steph went apeshit and Adams was hurt.

And game 4 will be the most important game of the series. Thunder wins at its thunder in 6. If they lose I'll coin flip it for Warriors in 7.

I literally said in that post you replied to there's more cause for concern now than before the series started. Literally.

YOu say it like it's some rare thing for one of the best players we've ever seen in a single season to go off.

By going ape shite you mean the unanimous MVP played like something you'd expect out of the unanimous MVP?
