I understand the thinking but I think expectations need to be tempered. This has always been a mediocre program. You're going to have down seasons. No one is or has ever beaten down the door to coach at ULL. Honestly, its a stepping stone to a stepping stone school.

No one has before because they were never committed to winning before. With the school willing to pay $1 million, the new athletic performance facility, the indoor practice facility, being located on I-10 in South Louisiana makes it a very attractive job for up and comers now. This isn't the same program that Rickey Bustle was hired to lead. It's also not the program that Mark Hudspeth was hired to lead. They've gotten much more serious. I would imagine they would get very attractive candidates if it came open.

I remember talk a few years ago about how no head football coach in the history of the ULL Football program left ULL for a better HC job. That is an amazing stat

Here is a list of their coaches pre-Hud

dont worry, a&m right now is literally toilet clogging shite that later bursts your pipes and becomes a shite fountain right in the middle of your house. losing a starter like that wont really affect you much this week because a&m is what it is right now

Hubenak may throw 6 TDs, but consequently, UL will score just as many. This game may get weird

We constantly hear people angry for ESPN inserting politics and saying they should only talk about sports yet one of the reasons Cajun fans are over the best coach in program history is because of politics?

You must not have heard his comments on the matter

What's the Trump video and how did he respond?

There was a leaked video of some of the players in the locker room rapping to the song "F--- Donald Trump" which upset quite a few fans; some of whom openly called them "thugs."

Hud's response was this....

quote:

But I will say this,” he added. “It’s also disappointing that so many people have vilified a few 19-year-olds making some immature decisions, and then they were the same ones that voted for someone that has done much worse by grabbing a female in the private areas for the office of the (President of the) United States of America.”

Hudspeth said he considered that “somewhat hypocritical.”

Even though he did apologize for that comment, there's still a lot of supporters who gave up their season tickets this year because of it.

His recruiting has gotten worse every year. His offensive coordinator hire seems like a good one, but the defense I watched the first two weeks is the worst I've ever seen. We have a new AD so you have to think he's starting to feel heat.

Think they'd be interested in Rebowe if he keeps Nicholls going the direction they're going?

ULL is one of the only schools I'm worried about losing him to, with him already having coached there, as well as being close enough to NOLA to still milk his recruiting ties.

Everyone around here loves Rebowe but the school should set their target much higher. I think Rebowe is currently exactly where he needs to be.

Honestly if the Cajuns were to fire Hudspeth they should start with John Grass at Jacksonville St.

A bunch of G5 schools are paying $1 million or close to it and have nice facilities now with a bigger budget.
Ark St and Troy both have this plus their coaches actually get hired to better jobs.
Also whoever was the idiot who decided that the master plan should put seats in the endzone first instead of redoing the pressbox, putting suites, and stadium club( seats that will actually make money) is an idiot

The idea was that the endzne seats would handle those displaced when the upper deck is torn down. The upper deck is supposed to be smaller with more suites and press box area when rebuilt. That was the idea that they went with at least

Of course when all of this was planned, Hudspeth was doing well and Oil was over $100/bbl
